Virginia: Virginia is looking for a S&C volunteer. Ideal candidates will be certified or actively pursuing certification from CSCCa, NSCA and/or USAW. Those pursuing an internship for class credit will be accommodated. We can schedule hours around academic and or income commitments as needed. Admission Requirements: Students wanting to become a strength and conditioning volunteer must meet the following requirements:  Junior status or higher. Montana State: Montana State University, is accepting applications for qualified, highly motivated UNPAID Interns in Strength and Conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting in implementation of strength & conditioning programs for assigned sports; provide proper instruction for safe and effective lifting/spotting techniques and equipment usage; supervise weight room day-to-day activities and conduct periodic performance & strength testing; as well as facility maintenance. Qualifications: Must have strong desire to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning profession. Must be pro-active, have an excellent work ethic, and be disciplined. Previous strength coaching experience preferred. Previous athletic experience preferred. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel strongly recommended. Compensation: NON-MONETARY/UNPAID. Continuing education resources, CSCS certification prep, access to networking opportunities, potential future recommendation for professional advancement and continuing mentorship available beyond completion of the internship. Colorado: The University of Colorado Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for two (2) internship positions for the Fall 2019 Semester. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University of Colorado Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the position is filled. Charlotte: The Football Performance Department at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is accepting qualified applicants for the Fall of 2019 Football Performance Internship Program. This is an unpaid internship with benefits (best snack food in the country, intermittent meals, gear, and potential travel). Interns will gain practical experience while assisting in the implementation of an in-season football training system at the Division I FBS level, while completing an internship development program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Football Performance staff with the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for two distinct training groups: the travel and developmental squads. Interns will gain valuable and practical experience in the utilization and implementation of Velocity Based Training protocols using the GymAware VBT system and in assisting with our compulsory GPS monitoring system using the STATSports APEX system. Additional responsibilities will include: assisting in the operation of a football only fueling station, training session set up, daily upkeep, and maintenance of equipment and other duties as assigned by the Football Performance staff. Interns will be an extension of the Football Performance staff and will be expected to abide by all rules and regulations of the Football Performance Department and Charlotte Athletics. Required Qualifications: Applicants should be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field. Applicants must possess a CPR/AED-First Aid certification. Applicants should be certified or working toward CSCS or SCCC certification. Applicants should have a strong desire to be involved in and/or work with strength and conditioning at the collegiate level. This position will start July 30 th (potentially negotiable) and conclude December 12 th (also negotiable). Loyola Marymount: Loyola Marymount University Strength & Conditioning Department is currently seeking 2 full-time, and UNPAID, Strength & Conditioning interns for the Fall 2019 semester. The internship will start on August 26, 2019 and conclude on December 13, 2019. Our internship program offers each individual the opportunity to gain experience, acquire knowledge and earn coaching opportunities with our student-athletes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Demonstrate professional etiquette at all times * Assist Strength Coaches with set-up, and breakdown, for all sessions * Assist in coaching, as directed by the strength coach, sessions including: Speed & Agility, Plyometrics, Weight Lifting, Energy System, Recovery, etc… * Assist with maintenance of all weight room equipment on a daily basis * Demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm to tackle all educational assignments from our S&C curriculum * Demonstrate the willingness to perform any tasks as assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in, or have graduated from an Exercise Science or related undergraduate program. All interns must hold, or be working towards, a nationally accredited Strength and Conditioning Certification (CSCS, CSCCa).
