Abilene Christian (FCS - TX): Abilene Christian University Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for 1 Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant position. This is a 12 month position (at will) with a start date of June 1st, 2018. Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports, including football. Additionally, this position will help with facility cleaning/maintenance and the athlete fueling station. Minimum Qualifications: *DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS To be eligible, applicants must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in exercise science) from an accredited college or university, certification from the CSCCa or NSCA, a CPR/AED certification, and must be accepted into one of Abilene Christian’s or Hardin Simmons graduate programs. In addition, they must have a strong work ethic, great energy and enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and great desire to learn about the strength and conditioning profession. Benefits: This is a 12 month position (at will) that includes: a stipend of $6,000 ($500 per month), a tuition waiver of $4000 per semester (books and fees are not covered in this amount – you are responsible for books and fees), an on campus apartment (University Apartments), and a $250 stipend for continuing education. Howard (FCS): Howard University Strength & Conditioning is seeking applicants who are highly motivated to fill four (4) available unpaid internships positions. These positions will be for the Summer and Fall of 2018. Start date is negotiable. Applicants must be seeking to become a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach or already certified through the NSCA or CSCCA. This internship will not just be a protein shake PB&J making experience. You will be getting hands on coaching experience at America's top Division 1 HBCU. Howard University is located in Washington D.C. so local candidates are preferred because housing will not be provided. Southwestern: The Strength and Conditioning Department at Southwestern University is seeking 1-2 candidates for a volunteer internship during the 2018 Fall Semester. Southwestern University is a member of the Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). Accepted intern candidates will have the opportunity to work with all 20 sport teams. Candidates MUST be CSCS or SCCC certified. Interns will be treated as assistants, have hands on coaching training, and will run small teams if proven to be trustworthy by Head S&C Coach. Candidates must show outstanding work ethic, the willingness to learn, outgoing personality, and attention to detail. Candidates must have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. This intern position is a volunteer opportunity with NO compensation. Candidates must have their own form of transportation, food, and housing. This position does offer the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours toward a program degree (if needed). Candidates will receive hands on learning and teaching of ground based strength and power exercises as well as rehabilitation methods to help increase on field performance and decrease the risk of injury for athletes.
