NJIT: The NJIT Strength and Conditioning Department is looking for intern strength and conditioning coaches for the fall 2019 semester. There is the potential for a small stipend that will be paid out at the end of the semester. This position will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and hands-on experience at the Division 1 level with a variety of sports. The position will also have the opportunity to work with GPS monitoring and Velocity-Based Training technology. Responsibilities: Assist in all aspects of the strength and conditioning program, as assigned. Requirements: Working toward or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. First Aid/CPR/AED Certified. Preferred: CSCS or SCCC. Looking to move into a full-time position in strength and conditioning. Assumption: Assumption College located in Worcester, MA is currently accepting applicants for an Asst. Strength and Conditioning position for the 2019-2020 school year. Assumption College is a Division II school with 24 collegiate teams that participates in the Northeast-10 Conference, and includes over 500 student-athletes. The Successful Candidate will directly oversee Football, with the possibility of 1-2 additional teams. Applicants for the position must hold a CSCS or SCCC certification and be currently certified in First Aid/CPR/AED. Eastern Illinois: Eastern Illinois University is seeking to fill a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning position that will begin in the summer of 2019. Candidates must have a strong desire to become a full-time Strength and Conditioning coach, and must posses strong qualities of passion, leadership, and integrity. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting with football strength & conditioning, the design and implementation of sports performance programs for other assigned sports, weight room supervision and upkeep, daily communication with sport coaches and athletic trainers, and other duties assigned by the head strength and conditioning coach. Required: previous collegiate coaching experience (Internships included), CPR/AED & first aid certification, a SCCC or CSCS Certification, and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field with a GPA of 3.0 or above. Morningside College (NAIA- IA): Morningside College Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applicants for a paid part-time position working with all programs for the 2019-2020 academic year. This position will start in the Fall 2019 and complete at the end of the academic school year 2020. Responsibilities will differ and include various duties within the Morningside College Strength and Conditioning department. Hours vary during each semester and will include early mornings, late afternoons, and some weekend hours throughout the academic year. Will gain valuable, hands on experience in areas such as program design, speed and agility techniques, conditioning, facility and athlete supervision. Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an Exercise Science related field required. An accredited certification through the CSCCa-SCCC, NSCA-CSCS, and/or USAW are preferred. Updated CPR/AED/First Aid required. Must be able to pass a background check. Must have a strong passion to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning profession. Previous weight room, student-athlete, or athletic coaching experience preferred. Compensation: $10,000 stipend for the whole academic year 2019-2020 broken up into monthly payments; in addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to obtain Practicum Hourly Requirements needed to sit for the SCCC exam administered by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association by an approved mentor. Sacred Heart: The Sacred Heart University Strength & Conditioning Staff is looking for qualified interns with an interest in Collegiate Strength & Conditioning to work with all 32 teams during their training sessions this Fall. The bulk of the internship will be devoted to Football. These positions are unpaid, do not include housing or meals, but will provide valuable experience in Collegiate Strength & Conditioning. The internship start date will be August 5thand will go until November 29th. Preferred candidates should possess or be working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in or related to the field of Exercise Science.
