UCLA: The University of California at Los Angeles is currently seeking highly motivated candidates to fill positions for our Football Performance Internship Program for the Winter-Spring 2020 season. This position is an UNPAID position and will begin the 6th of January. Individuals chosen will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I program, through our comprehensive internship education curriculum as well as practical sessions. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: shadowing warms ups, implementation of proper lifting techniques, spotting and daily operation/maintenance of the weight room and nutrition areas, record keeping, internship curriculum and helping create a great training environment. Miami (OH): The Miami University Strength and Conditioning Department in Oxford, Ohio is accepting applications for 2-3 Olympic Interns, 2-3 Football Interns, and 1 Hockey Intern position during Spring 2020. Positions require a 15-week commitment with an internship curriculum provided. Deadline to apply is January 10, 2020. While this is an unpaid internship, candidates will gain valuable experience training athletes, earn class credit (if applicable), may receive team gear, and earn a potential recommendation for further positions in the field. The purpose of this intern program is to help educate and develop aspiring strength and conditioning coaches. Start Date: January 20, 2020 End Date: Friday, April 24, 2020 Responsibilities (included but not limited to): Set up, breakdown, and general maintenance of training sessions and facilities. Prepare nutritional supplements for athletes. Observe and cue multiple athletes on a variety of movements. May be given the opportunity to assist in the design and implementation of various types of training. Any added responsibilities as earned. Qualifications: Must possess a First Aid/AED Certification. Possess or working towards a CSCS or SCCC certification. A background in Exercise Science or a related field is preferred, but not required. Strong work ethic, communication, professionalism, initiative, and commitment. Must be able to lift minimum 60 lbs. High level of enthusiasm and energy. Highly motivated to work in collegiate strength and conditioning. Preferred: Organizational and computer skills. Previous playing or coaching experience. Be able to demonstrate Olympic lifts, speed, change of direction movements. Compensation: UNPAID VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP. Housing: No housing provided. Must find within Oxford, Hamilton, or other nearby cities. Sacred Heart: Sacred Heart University is looking for qualified volunteer interns for the 2020 spring semester or 2020 summer sessions. Spring internships would be unpaid but will have the ability to work with 32 Division I sports teams on campus, including football. Summer internships would also be unpaid but have the ability to work with our Division I football team, along with our men and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball teams. Responsibilities include assisting staff members in the training of team training, cleaning the varsity weight room and its equipment, setting up for team strength and conditioning sessions, filming training sessions for social media, and assisting in handing out nutrition to student athletes. We are looking for energetic, hard-working and motivated individuals who are looking to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. South Carolina: The University of South Carolina is actively seeking Intern candidates for the Spring 2020 Football season. This internship opportunity is an UPAID position beginning January 6th. The internship is a comprehensive experience that provides hands on education in the weight room with student athletes, daily maintenance of the facility and educational seminars with full-time strength and conditioning coaches. Required qualifications include the completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or a related course of study. Qualifications also include applicants that have a strong work ethic, highly motivated and are in process of obtaining or currently hold an accredited certification such as the CSCS or SCCC. North Florida: The University of North Florida Strength and Conditioning Department is in search of a qualified candidate for the Strength and Conditioning Assistant position for spring 2020. This is a Part-Time position that pays $15/hour. Successful applicants will gain valuable experience working with Division-I athletes. This position will be assigned 2-3 teams. This position can also be provided with a mentorship to sit for the CSCCa exam in Orlando, FL. Day to day responsibilities will include program design, setup and breakdown of lifting/conditioning sessions, facility maintenance and upkeep, and other tasks given by the full-time staff. Prospective applicants should hold a CSCS or SCCC and CPR-AED certification as well as possess relevant experience in the field. Additional qualifications include a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach, punctuality, high energy, and confidence in a group setting. Start date is Friday, January 3rd, 2020. Assumption: The Strength and Conditioning Department at Assumption College is searching for 2-3 candidates for the position of Strength and Conditioning Intern during the 2020 Spring Semester. Assumption College is a member of the Division II Northeast-10 (NE-10). Accepted candidates will have the opportunity to work with all 24 sport teams. Candidates will be expected to assist and potentially lead groups during training sessions. This position is perfect for an individual looking to break into the college strength and conditioning scene! Candidates for the Strength and Conditioning Coach Internship, can qualify for college credit. Interns will be treated as assistants, and have hands on coaching training, and could run small groups if proven to be trustworthy by the Strength and Conditioning Staff. Candidates must show outstanding work ethic, the willingness to learn, outgoing personality, and attention to detail. This position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours toward a program degree (Internship Position). Candidates will receive hands on learning, coaching, and the ability to see the interworking of a Strength and Conditioning Department.
