Stanford: Stanford University is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Sports Performance Program. Qualified candidates will serve all 36 sports including Football, and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is a unpaid opportunity that provides experience assisting the staff implement individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific, injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study and CSCS or SCCC certification. Applicants must have current CPR/AED certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, January 8th 2018, and requires a 6-month time commitment with opportunities to continue pending positive evaluation. During this evaluation, interns will have the opportunity to compete and earn a paid intern position on the Sports Performance staff. Deadline to apply is: Friday, October 27th 2017. Louisville: The University of Louisville Football Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Internship Program is currently accepting applications for the 2018 Spring semester. The internship will begin January 7th. These internships are unpaid and non-coaching positions. Prerequisites: The candidate must be pursing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and be CPR and First Aid certified. Candidates must be considering, pursing or possess a certification through the CSCCa and/or NSCA. Daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to assisting in the day to day operations of the facility, cleaning and maintenance duties, set-up and break-down of equipment for all workouts, data collection, organizing nutrition/fueling station and assist with GPS catapult systems. The internship program will consist of mock interviews, presentations to the staff, weekly topics and bi-weekly evaluations. Candidates must possess a strong work ethic, respectable character, 100% commitment to the program and a desire to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning field. Towson: Towson University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill Spring 2018 unpaid volunteer internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting while working with all 19 varsity teams. This internship will fulfill course credit if necessary. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in an extensive curriculum that will enhance both scientific and practical knowledge pertaining to the field. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with the implementation of strength and conditioning programs, attending to daily maintenance of training facilities, and administrative duties as assigned by strength coaches. Qualified candidates should have a strong desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach and be pursuing a bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field. Candidates should be certified in First Aid/CPR/AED and be pursuing SCCC or CSCS certifications. Interns will gain hands on experience and the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of strength and conditioning. Weber State: Weber State Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for Three (3) unpaid internship positions for the 2018 Spring Semester. Internship dates are from January 3rd – April 26th. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division I Strength & Conditioning setting. REQUIREMENTS: CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; a desire to become an Strength and Conditioning professional, the ability maintain a flexible and demanding schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: CSCS, USAW, or SCCC certifications; previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer data entry programs. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the Strength and Conditioning staff.
