Akron: The University of Akron football strength and conditioning department is seeking VOLUNTEER interns for Spring 2017. This is an UNPAID position. This internship program includes an extremely intense curriculum that will give you experience and knowledge in: bio-mechanics, NFL combine prep, program design, nutrition, facility management, leadership techniques, coaching techniques, overall group management skills, and NSCA CSCS test prep. Qualification include being CPR/First Aid/AED certificated and working toward certification with an unparralled passion in the field. Florida Atlantic: The Florida Atlantic University Strength & Conditioning department is accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Intern for the upcoming 2017 Spring semester (January 9th – May 5th). Compensation: Division I Intercollegiate experience; an earned recommendation toward further success as a Strength & Conditioning Coach; as well as college credit toward graduation, if applicable. Please be aware that this position is unpaid and does not provide housing. Duties will include, but are not limited to: assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for all respective FAU sports; set up, and breakdown of training equipment; as well as assisting in facility maintenance and safety procedures. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, and highly motivated; preferred candidates are to be in a Bachelor’s degree program geared towards Exercise Physiology and/or related field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a Strength & Conditioning or Sports Performance environment; working towards a nationally-accredited strength & conditioning certification (SCCC, CSCS, USAW, etc.); knowledge/experience working with Microsoft Excel.
