Furman: Furman University Strength and Conditioning Department is now seeking applications for Strength and Conditioning Interns for the SPRING and SUMMER Semesters of 2021. These are UNPAID and FULL-TIME positions that are responsible for assisting the FU Strength and Conditioning staff with the execution of training programs, preparation of the nutrition program, set up and break down of training sessions and maintenance of the weight room. This internship also provides educational opportunities for professional development in the field of strength and conditioning, coaching and certification preparation. Preferred qualifications include Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, CSCS or CSCCa certifications, USAW certification, CPR/AED certifications and experience coaching and/or participation in Collegiate Athletics. Missouri Western State: (D-II): Missouri Western State University has TWO Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning positions available immediately. The Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will provide support and assistance to the Head Strength Coach. The GA will be responsible for the design and implementation of strength & conditioning programs for 3-4 assigned sports as well as assisting with football. Must hold or be working towards a nationally accredited certification (SCCC, CSCS, USAW). Must show willingness and desire to learn and grow in the profession. Previous experience in collegiate strength and conditioning and/or sports performance in the private sector preferred. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to do their CSCCa practicum hours and become CSCCa Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC). The GA receives full graduate school tuition covering a maximum of 36 credit hours as well as a monthly stipend. This is a 10-month contract for one academic calendar year. The potential candidate will have the opportunity for renewal for a second year based on performance evaluation. Garden City CC: Garden City Community College is currently seeking 2 to 4 highly motivated Intern Strength and Conditioning Coaches. This is an UNPAID position. There is the potential for part-time employment to assist with finances. Before applying please make sure this position is feasible. Intern strength and conditioning will have the daily responsibilities of assisting with all aspects of Garden City Football Strength and Conditioning. This includes strength training, conditioning, practice, and game day duties. Interns will be assigned Olympic sports teams and assist in all aspects of the strength and conditioning program for that team. This will include but is not limited to leading warm-ups, lifts, and conditioning, attending practice, games, and assisting with rehabilitation. Interns will aid in data input and collection. Interns will assist in daily facility upkeep and maintenance. Other duties may be assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Interns will participate in a structured and organized curriculum for development. The program will be tailored to the individual’s knowledge base. The internship program’s goal is to provide the tools necessary for advancement in a career in strength and conditioning. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm and effective communication skills, desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology or related field, attainment of CPR, First Aid & AED certification, pursuing or have attained relevant certifications: CSCS, SCCC, USAW, FMS, etc., previous coaching experience in a collegiate, professional, high school or private sector setting, competitive collegiate athletic involvement. Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, education in coaching tactics, program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable.
