Arizona State: Arizona State University Football sports performance is currently accepting applications for WINTER/SPRING 2021 volunteer internship positions. The internship positions are for the training sessions of, Jan 4 - May 7, with the opportunity to stay longer. Qualified candidates would work with all facets of a NCAA Division I FBS Football sports performance program. This is an UNPAID position. However, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as, the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. The position is responsible for assisting the Football sports performance staff with implementation of the program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (USAW, CSCS, CSCCa), certification in CPR/First Aid, previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. Interns will gain collegiate experience at the Division I level, and potential for future recommendations for future career opportunities. Santa ClaraSanta Clara University Sports Performance is currently seeking applicants for 1-2 Volunteer Sports Performance internship positions for Fall 2020. This is a special opportunity, as interns will have the opportunity to earn a PAID Assistant Position on the Sports Performance Staff. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist and coach 1-2 sports under the direction of the full-time staff, getting hands on experience with Catapult, Hawkins Force Plates & other technology as assigned, as well as completing our internship curriculum. Qualifications:Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field and a strong desire to become a Collegiate/Professional Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a collegiate athlete and currently pursuing or possessing SCCC, USAW, NSCA, or CSCS certification(s). This is a non-paid volunteer position; it may fulfill course credit if necessary. Application requirements:Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. Georgia Southern: Georgia Southern University (Sun Belt) Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is looking to fill three (3) Spring VOLUNTEER assistant positions. The internship will involve: Assisting with the supervision and execution of the training programs for Olympic sports teams. Candidates should have a strong desire to work in the field of sports performance. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience working in a Division I FBS environment within the Sun Belt Conference. There will also be a comprehensive internship curriculum that all volunteer assistants will be required to participate in. This curriculum is designed for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning through mentorship, teaching, professional/personal development and pre-arranged networking opportunities with other college strength coaches. Required qualifications: current CPR / AED. Preferred qualifications: completion of an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be working toward or have completed certification(s) from CSCCa and/or NSCA. Seeking those who will embody the Georgia Southern culture: blue collar, servant leaders. Start date (in Statesboro, GA) is January 2021 and will work through the completion of the academic year. All positions are unpaid (no monetary compensation) but have the potential of earning a strong recommendation towards future employment. Lamar: Lamar University Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for Volunteer Internship positions for the Spring 2021 semester. The internship will begin January 15 and end May 4. Qualified candidates will work directly with Football along with various Olympic sport teams as assigned. Our main goal is education through experience. This includes daily coaching opportunities, opportunities to lead small team sessions, continuing education, a comprehensive internship curriculum, expansion of network connections, and daily weight room maintenance. While working with all Division-I athletic programs, interns will gain practical coaching experience in accordance with the philosophy of the department and can begin to lay the groundwork for future opportunities, with a consideration for future employment recommendations. Qualifications: strong work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, effective communication skills, positive energy, willingness to learn, Bachelors' degree/degree in progress (Internship may be completed for class credit), hold or pursuing a SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification. This intern will have the opportunity to earn a PAID Assistant Position on the Sports Performance Staff. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist with Men’s and Women’s Basketball under the direction of the full-time staff, getting hands-on experience with Catapult, Hawkins Force Plates, Polar Heart Rate, Nutrition & other technology as assigned, as well as completing our internship curriculum. Qualifications:
Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field and a strong desire to become a Collegiate/Professional Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred Qualifications: Previous Basketball experience as a collegiate athlete and currently pursuing or possessing SCCC, USAW, NSCA, or CSCS certification(s). Benedictine (KS): The Athletic Performance Graduate Assistant is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the program, including but not limited to scheduling, training, promotions, fundraising and coaching team members. The Graduate Assistant is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Benedictine College, the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart), Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Education: Bachelor's Degree; ARC First Aid and CPR certified required (must be certified by start date), and; National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certification required, preferred NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
