Iowa: The University of Iowa Department of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill Spring 2021 internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The internship may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, and professional development throughout internship program. Opportunities to work with many performance monitoring technologies including but not limited to: Force Plates, GPS, Omegawave, Tensiomyography and VBT systems. CSCCA mentorship is available to assist your eligibility for the certification. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing CSCCA, USAW, or NSCA certification(s). Jacksonville: The Jacksonville University Strength & Conditioning Department are seeking (1) qualified candidate to fulfill an open Graduate Assistant position. Jacksonville University is located in Jacksonville, FL and represents 17- Division 1 Sports and is a member of the Atlantic Sun (ASun) Conference. Requirements: Applicants must have obtained a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, preferably with a degree majoring in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, etc. Candidates must currently possess one or more of the following certifications (CSCS-SCCC-USAW) and be First Aid/CPR certified before effective start date. In the interview process, all candidates must be able to show proficiency in team programming and proper progressions in Olympic & Strength/Power Based Movements, Speed/Agility, Sport Specific Conditioning, and exercise modifications for injured populations. Responsibilities: Successful candidates will be assigned 1-2 sport teams to directly oversee & any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the S&C Staff and assigned sport coaches. Yale: Yale Sports Performance is seeking qualified candidates to fill available internship positions for the Fall 2020 semester. This internship includes a classroom lecture component as well as rigorous hours in the weight room alongside full-time coaches for hands on experience. Students will not only gain the knowledge of program design and theory, nutrition, athletic testing, and leadership, but also have the chance to apply what they have learned in a practical setting with Division I athletes. Yale Athletics is home to 34 varsity teams, allowing the interns to work with a variety of sports. This includes the 2019 Ivy League Championship Football team, the 2018 National Championship Men's Lacrosse team, as well as the 11 time Women’s Volleyball Ivy League Champions. The goal of this internship is to give interns the necessary tools to obtain jobs within the strength and conditioning field. The hours will closely resemble that of a full time strength and conditioning coach. This is an unpaid internship, but hours can be used towards academic credits for college. It is also an NSCA accredited continuing education site. You will receive 2 continuing education units (CEU’s) upon completion. The ideal prospective candidate would be a current or recently graduated college student. Preference will be given to those who have studied Exercise Science, however all professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Liberty: The Liberty University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for the positions of VOLUNTEER INTERN for Spring Semester of 2021. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES will include but are not limited to assisting in the implementation of the Strength and Conditioning programs; set up and break down for daily activities, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and participation in the internship curriculum. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION, HOUSING, OR TRANSPORTATION will be provided, however, Interns will receive experience working in a Division 1 training environment and have the opportunity to earn recommendations for future career opportunities and/or receive college credit if applicable. The Intern’s level of ambition will determine the level of the learning experience. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a strong work ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Interns are expected to be punctual, enthusiastic, reliable, productive and consistent along with having the financial capability to hold the position for the duration of the internship. Ideal candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework earning and undergraduate degree in exercise science or related field of study.
