Tennessee State: Tennessee State University is currently accepting applications for two winter/spring 2015 strength & conditioning intern positions. Duties will include assisting with weight room set up and break down, daily facility maintenance, and assisting with assigned varsity sports. The successful candidate must display a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and an interest to become a strength and conditioning professional. In addition, they must be committed to enhancing themselves and the department through a continued eagerness to learn and develop professionally. Alongside assigned duties, interns will participate in the internship development curriculum. Required qualifications include pursuit or completion of a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and punctuality. Desired qualifications include pursuit or completion of one of the following certifications: CSCS, CSCCa, or USAW. This position is UNPAID, but candidates selected will be able to earn recommendations for future career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. East Tennessee State: The ETSU Football strength and conditioning accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the football sports performance program during the Spring 2015. The successful candidate must have a great attitude, give relentless effort, and posses a deep desire to become an effective strength and conditioning coach. Qualified candidates will serve the Football program as a non-counted coach with the opportunity to participate in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. There is NO monetary compensation for this position. However, candidates will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, college credit towards graduation if applicable and be involved in the CSCCa mentorship program necessary to achieve the SCCC certification. Preferred qualifications: SCCC or CSCS certified, CPR/AED certified and a bachelor’s degree in a program geared towards strength and conditioning.
