Maryland: The University of Maryland Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning Staff is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for a strength and conditioning Volunteer internship opportunity for the fall 2012 semester. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program as well as daily maintenance of weight room and facilities. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates who will be receiving course credit will be given preference. If chosen for this internship opportunity you will receive Division 1 experience at an Elite University in an Major Conference, you will be educated on training philosophy, olympic lifting modalities, and learn what it takes to make it as a strength and conditioning professional. Preferred qualifications: Candidates should have or be working towards attaining their bachelor’s degree, and one of the following certifications; CSCS, SCCC, or USAW. If you are interested, send a cover letter, resume, and three (3) professional references to: Brent Kwiatkowski, M.S., CSCS, USAW, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, Olympic Sports, University of Maryland Athletics, Office: (301) 314-1608 or bak@umd.edu
