Maryland: The University of Maryland has an opening for a part time assistant strength coach. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports in preparing the student-athletes at the University of Maryland for the rigors and demands of intercollegiate competition through the utilization of total athletic enhancement training. The primary function of this position will be to manage the total athletic performance preparation of student-athletes to include, but not limited to: development of training programs; application of appropriate motivational techniques; instruction of student-athletes in the proper execution of weight training exercises, plyometrics, agility drills, flexibility training, speed improvement technique, and conditioning modalities; and communicating with appropriate coaching personnel regarding the needs and demands of the student-athletes. Other duties include assisting in the daily management of Intercollegiate Athletic Department weight training facilities, which include (1) the maintenance of a safe working environment, (2) assisting in scheduling team usage, and (3) supervision responsibilities for Assistant Strength and Conditioning coaches. This position will be directly in charge of three (3) teams at the University of Maryland. Team assignments will be upon hiring. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required. Collegiate strength coaching experience preferred. National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) certification required. Ideal candidate will be experienced in program design and application for a broad range of training systems and sport applications. SALARY: Salary will be paid in the amount of $15,000 over 9 Months.
