Georgia: The University of Georgia Olympic Strength & Conditioning department is currently accepting applications for 2016 Summer and 2016 Fall Intern. This is a Volunteer, Unpaid position. CPR/AED Certification will be REQUIRED before the start date of the position. Applicants should have an educational background in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field. Applicants should be certified or interested in obtaining one of the following certifications: CSCS, SCCC, USAW. Individuals who apply should be highly motivated, have a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have a strong desire to become a future strength and conditioning coach. Daily responsibilities will consist of aiding the strength and conditioning staff with the evaluation of student athletes, assisting in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs, performing proper lifting techniques, motivating athletes, and cleaning/maintaining the strength and conditioning facility. Cal: The University of California Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Summer of 2016. The internship begins May 30 and ends July 27. This is an unpaid position, however, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning through earned future recommendation, along with coaching apparel, and the opportunity to eat at daily team meals. The intern that is selected will also accumulate internship hours toward CSCCa Certification under a certified mentor. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision of the Cal Football team, set up and breakdown for daily strength and conditioning activities, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, filming and inputting data, as well as participating in a vigorous internship curriculum. Prerequisites include completion of a Bachelors’ Degree, working toward NSCA or CSCCa certification, along with, preferably, collegiate athletic playing experience. West Florida: The University of West Florida is seeking to fill a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning coaching position that will begin in the summer of 2016. Candidates must have a strong desire to be a full time Strength and Conditioning coach. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the design and implementation of Strength and Conditioning programs for assigned sports, weight room supervision and upkeep, communication with sport coaches and athletic trainers, and other duties assigned by the head Strength and Conditioning coach. Consideration will be given to those who possess leadership, communication skills, and the desire to learn. Required: previous collegiate coaching experience, CPR/AED certification, a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and acceptance into the graduate school program. CSCCa/CSCS certifications preferred.
