North Texas: The University of North Texas Department of Strength and Conditioning, Strength and Conditioning Internship. UNT is a proud member of Conference USA and is searching for aspiring strength and conditioning coaches to fill internship positions available for the 2014 SPRING semester (1/6 – 5/9). Prospective candidates will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the UNT Strength and Conditioning coaching staff, gain in-valuable hands-on experience working with Division I athletes (Football and Olympic sports), and participate in the UNT Strength and Conditioning professional development & educational curriculum (course credit if applicable). Please note, there is no monetary compensation for this position. Applicants must be committed to developing themselves as a professional and working their way up in the strength and conditioning coaching profession. Mount St. Mary's (MD): Mount St. Mary’s University is seeking applications for a Strength and Conditioning internship in the Department of Athletics for the remainder of the Fall in addition to the Spring and Summer of 2014 academic semesters. Mount St. Mary’s University is a premier Catholic Institution and a member of the NCAA Division I Northeast Conference. Daily responsibilities for the position will entail assisting with implementation of the Strength and Conditioning program including: instruction of weight room exercises, speed and conditioning techniques, program design and performance testing. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, be self-motivated, and able to follow directions. Candidates who will be receiving course credit will be given preference. This is an unpaid position, living and transportation arrangements will not be provided. If chosen for this position you will receive Division I experience with a variety of Olympic sports, be educated on training philosophy, and gain experience designing and implementing programs for select Olympic sports. Candidates are required to be a recent graduate or senior working toward a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field, be pursuing relevant certifications (CSCS, SCCC, and/or USAW), maintain current first aid/CPR/AED, and have a strong desire to pursue a career in Strength and Conditioning.
