College of Charleston: The College of Charleston has an opening for an Assistant Sports Performance Coach Description: The College of Charleston is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is a part time, nine month position with the possibility of renewal on a yearly basis. The position is paid on an hourly basis ($15 per hour) and does not include benefits. Review of applicants will begin immediately. Offer is contingent on a background check. Lamar: The Lamar Strength and Conditioning department is seeking 3 motivated individuals for Spring 2014 internships. Individuals must be currently pursuing a bachelors/master's degree in a kinesiology/exercise science related field. Current certifications through the CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW are preferred but not required. Interns will have the opportunity to work with both football and Olympic sports teams. Weber State: The Weber State University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting volunteer intern applicants for the 2014-15 football and basketball seasons (3 football, 2 basketball). Daily responsibilities include: assisting with the set up and break down of weight room and field/court for strength and conditioning workouts; daily clean-up and maintenance of the weight room and equipment; assist with supervision and demonstration during the training sessions. Applicants must be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, desire to learn, and have a strong work ethic. Applicants should already possess or be eligible and preparing to sit for the CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW. Interns MUST be CPR/AED certified. This position is unpaid. Volunteers will receive Division 1 FCS football and or Division 1 Men’s and Women’s basketball experience and the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Winthrop (SC): Winthrop is accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning Interns and/or Volunteer Assistants for the spring semester. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Winthrop's 16 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; completion of various educational assignments during the internship are required. Qualifications include: strong work ethic; punctuality; enthusiasm; desire to further one’s career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Preferred qualifications include: pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field; NSCA-CPT, CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certifications; CPR certification and coaching experience. Individuals chosen for the position are subject to college/university background checks. This is a Volunteer position. Interns and/or Volunteer Assistants will receive experience working at a Division I program, better understand program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
