Florida A&M: FAMU, a NCAA Division 1 institution and member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference invites those interested in pursuing a career in Strength and Conditioning to apply for a full-time 12-month PAID professional internship with the Strength and Conditioning Department. Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength training, conditioning and speed programs designed for 18 varsity teams (including Football), weight room upkeep, equipment maintenance and other duties assigned by the Director of Strength & Conditioning. There will be an opportunity to have responsibility over 1 or more sports teams TBD by your comprehension, prior experience, knowledge and skill level. Qualifications: Potential interns must be self-motivated and possess a strong interest in becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach. In addition, candidates should be pursuing or just completed a Bachelors or Master’s degree in exercise science or a related field as well as working towards a certification with the CSCCa or NSCA. We can provide the practicum/ mentorship experience required to obtain the SCCC certification through the CSCCa. Compensation: Full-time paid internship opportunity, valuable experience and knowledge and earned recommendation to pursue the next step in your career and successful candidates will also be given the opportunity to compete for a future graduate assistant position at FAMU.
