University of Southern Mississippi: Strength and Conditioning department is looking for a full time summer intern to work with football and other sports as assigned. Duties will include daily upkeep and maintenance of the weight room but primary responsibility will be COACHING! Candidates should be proficient in weightlifting, have or be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field as well as appropriate certifications. This is an unpaid internship but the successful candidate can receive course credit (if pursuing a degree) and will gain valuable hands on experience in a Division 1 setting. Memphis: The Strength and Conditioning Department is searching for hard-working candidates for a Summer Internship opportunity working primarily with football. Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assist Strength and Conditioning Staff in all facets of implementation of weight training programs, aid in the instruction of safe and proper weight training techniques, and assist in the regular maintenance and upkeep of the facility. This is an unpaid position (IF THIS IS NOT AN ECONOMICALLY VIABLE OPTION FOR YOU THEN PLEASE DO NOT APPLY) in which the potential candidate(s) may receive class credit if applicable and will gain valuable collegiate level work experience and exposure through various training modalities centered around vertical integration, Bod Pod assessment, Polar Team2 Heart Rate System usage, orthopedic assessment, and sport massage.
