SMU: (Spring internship) Assist the Southern Methodist University, Sports Performance staff in the day-to-day operations in the weight room. Duties will include but are not limited to; assist the sports performance staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for 16 varsity sports, instruction of safe and proper execution of all facets of athletic development, and assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Spring interns will work primarily with Football, Men’s and Women’s soccer, swimming, tennis and Women’s Volleyball. Qualifications: Pursuing Bachelors in exercise science or a related field. Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS and/or USAW. Upon successful completion of this internship, one should posses and demonstrates the required abilities to advance in the field of Strength and Conditioning.
