Allegheny College: We understand that Allegheny is looking to hire a director of peak performance and fitness. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Program design, implementation, and supervision for the College’s 21 intercollegiate teams; teaching proper speed, agility, weight lifting and conditioning methods and techniques; motivating student-athletes to train, condition and perform to their highest potentials; educating student-athletes on nutrition and concerning the dangers inherent to illegal/banned performance enhancing drugs; monitor the weight room, equipment and supervise fitness areas; direct strength and conditioning workouts and classes for all varsity athletic programs; coordinate with the athletic training office on injury prevention and rehab programs; manage facility memberships; oversee student workers; and monitor fitness classes. Webber International (FL): Webber International University is seeking qualified applicants for 2015-2016 PAID INTERN-ASSISTANTSHIP positions. Benefits include part-time minimum wage supplemental income, free on-campus housing, full meal plan, work attire/athletic apparel, and continuing education credits towards certifications. The position runs from July 2015-April 2016. THIS IS MORE THAN AN “INTERNSHIP”; an intern-assistant would be viewed as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for their assigned teams. Duties will include programming and leading workouts; working with athletic trainers and sport coaches; assisting training multiple other sports (including football); assisting with rehab assignments; assisting with day-to-day operational work in running the Fitness Center. Intern-assistants will receive continuous mentorship throughout employment, including, but not limited to, weekly evaluations, presentations, staff discussions, managerial and leadership tasks - all with a relentless push towards constant growth. There are also promotional opportunities available if the intern-assistant proves worthy. This position is only for those who have made a decision to pursue a career in Strength & Conditioning. Candidates for this program must be enrolled in or have graduated from an exercise science or related program, and must have current CPR/AED certification. Attainment of CSCS or SCCC is not required, but highly recommended.
