Maine: The University of Maine is accepting applications for internship opportunities in strength and conditioning for the Fall 2015 semester. This is an unpaid position. Candidates must exhibit strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, passion for the field, and eagerness to learn. JOB DUTIES: Include, but are not limited to hands on coaching experience with collegiate athletes, assisting in all aspects of Olympic sports and Football strength and conditioning. Interns will go through an extensive internship curriculum, gaining practical strength and conditioning knowledge, have the opportunity to gain experience in using current technology in the field, and complete weekly assignments. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Obtained or working toward a bachelors degree in an Exercise Science related field. Hold current certification or working toward CSCS or USAW certifications. Previous experience with the Olympic lifts. Interns will receive experience working at a Division I program, will better understand program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. East Los Angeles College (JC - CA): East Los Angeles College is looking for a strength and conditioning coach who can also serve as a video coordinator during practice and games. The strength and conditioning element involves implementing and running the strength and conditioning program weekdays from 4-5:30 in the weight room and then handling the on field team dynamic warm up and conditioning in practice. The video coordinator element involves filming team periods during practice and filming on game days (Saturdays). Film experience not necessary, but willingness and attention to detail is. Abilene Christian: Jeff Borque has been hired as the new director of strength and conditioning at Abilene Christian. Borque comes to ACU from Washington, where he served as an assistant strength an conditioning coach since January of 2014.
