Villanova: Villanova University is currently accepting applications for volunteer football strength and conditioning interns for Fall 2015. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor’s degree program; Must have CPR/AED/First Aid certification. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (1) CSCS and/or SCCC certification; (2) Experience competing in intercollegiate athletics or (3) experience working in a collegiate strength and conditioning facility. This is an unpaid position. However, volunteers will receive experience working at a Division I program, receive Nike athletic apparel, some meals will be provided, gain a better understanding of program design, have the potential to earn a paid internship position, earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if, applicable. Wingate: Wingate is looking to hire a full-time director of sports performance. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Sport Performance will coordinate sport specific programs that intensify the physical strength, speed and cardiovascular conditioning of all student-athletes, which includes 22 intercollegiate sports. Responsible for the general operation and maintenance of the weight room while enforcing safety procedures. Work with sport specific coaches to develop and coordinate schedules of student-athletes. Communicate with athletic training staff regarding modifications for injured/rehabilitating student-athletes. Monitor the progress of student-athletes through written documentation and verifiable records regarding status. Communicate with department staff, coaches and medical staff as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and current NSCA certification as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) are required and a Master’s Degree is preferred. Three (3) years’ experience as a strength and conditioning coach preferred. First aid/CPR/AED certification required (instructor preferred). Experience and ability to comply with NCAA rules and regulations required. Tulane: The Tulane University Department of Strength and Conditioning is currently seeking three qualified candidates to fill internship positions for the Winter/Spring of 2016. Candidates must possess loyalty, a genuine interest in pursuing a career in the profession, strong work ethic, dedication, the desire to gain knowledge, and a team oriented mindset. Job duties will include (1.) assisting primarily with the daily operations of the football strength and conditioning program along with Olympic sports as assigned, (2.) facility maintenance and upkeep, (3.) equipment set up and break down for all training sessions, and (4.) participation in staff and professional development opportunities. This is an unpaid internship with an expected commitment which begins Monday, January 11, 2016 and ends Friday, April 29, 2016. The opportunity offers experience for advancement in the profession and potential credit towards degree completion as applicable. This internship is also approved as a CSCCa mentorship site under the supervision of a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications for the position consist of the candidates being CPR/AED certified and having or working towards the SCCC or CSCS credential.
