New York Jets: The New York Jets Strength & Conditioning Staff is currently accepting applications for a 2016 Off-Season Program volunteer internship position. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the New York Jets Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Off-Season program. The successful candidate will get hands on experience working with professional athletes. Duties include set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility. Required qualifications include, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, a strong work ethic,and current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study. Candidates MUST be able to receive college course credit for participation in this internship to be considered. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body, previous coaching experience, or personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. There is no monetary compensation, and housing will not be provided. Please make sure that this position is economically feasible for you and that you meet all requirements before applying. Nevada: The University of Nevada, a Division I member of the NCAA and Mountain West Conference, is seeking an Intern Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to support and provide assistance to the Strength and Conditioning Department. COMPENSATION: This is a full time position with a 12-month renewable appointment. Compensation will be $16,800 per year. This position will start immediately and will be open until filled. DUTIES: Include but are not limited to: assisting with program design and implementation for Football to optimize sports performance and decrease injury potential; oversight of other Olympic sports program designs and conditioning programs; teaching proper weight lifting, speed, agility and conditioning techniques; supervising student-athlete training sessions; travel in compliance with NCAA, MWC and the University of Nevada. Occasional weekend and holiday work will be required based on specific sport seasons and team travel. This job requires occasional heavy lifting and the performance of strength and conditioning exercises. QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or closely related field; Certifications in one or more of the following: SCCC, CSCS, USAW is required; One or two years related collegiate work experience; Experience/Assistance in developing and implementing a strength and conditioning program at the collegiate level; Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; Must be proficient in the performance, instruction, assessment, evaluation and supervision of multiple weight lifting techniques.
