University of Virginia’s College at Wise: UVa-Wise Strength and Conditioning department is accepting applications for a 9 month (PAID) intern to work with Football and Olympic Sports. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have strong desire to become Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach: Currently pursuing or obtained bachelors degree in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid. Pursuing or obtained CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW certification(s). Must be proficient in use of Excel, be willing to work long hours, be responsible for maintenance and up keep of weight room. Must have outstanding work ethic and attention to detail. Must be willing to work entire FALL and SPRING semester. REWARDS: Those seeking NSCA certification will be compensated for their examination as well as provided study material. You will learn various training methodologies and techniques, as well as gain experience programming/implementing training for a variety of sports. This position will work much like an Assistant position allowing candidate to have responsibility over teams and gain experience in each area of Strength and Conditioning. This position provides both ROOM and BOARD as well as $6000 dollars paid from August 15 – May 16. Gardner-Webb: The Gardner-Webb University Athletic Performance Department is accepting applications for the position of graduate assistant. The intended start date is August 2015. Compensation includes full tuition waiver & a monthly stipend. The position is subject to a university background check. Successful applicants should have the ability to excel within a collaborative team environment; strong work ethic; effective communication skills; & desire to further one’s career in the field of Athletic Performance/Strength & Conditioning while having a strong commitment to Christian higher education. Responsibilities: assisting in all aspects of the Athletic Performance program, design and implementation of sport specific training programs for assigned teams; ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of lifts and drills; supervision of team workouts; assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the Athletic Performance Facility & compliance with all appropriate university, Big South Conference, and NCAA Rules/Regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required as well as working toward or already obtained a certification from an accredited strength and conditioning organization (NSCA, USAW, CSCCa, etc.). Possess CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Experience working in a NCAA 4- year college or university weight room with a variety of teams. Applicants MUST be admitted into the Gardner-Webb Graduate School in their respective program PRIOR to start date. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs & Athletic Performance/Strength & Conditioning related technology is encouraged. Arizona: The University of Arizona Football Strength and Conditioning program is accepting immediate applications for Fall Internships. Interns will assist in all daily activities at the Lowell-Stevens Football Facility, be in attendance at practice activities and assist Strength and Conditioning Department as needed. Interns will not receive any monetary compensation, but will receive valuable experience and future recommendations based on performance. Valdosta State: Per source, Eastern Michigan intern Cadron Davis has accepted a grad assistant position in the strength and conditioning department at Valdosta State.

University of Louisiana Monroe: The University of Louisiana Monroe is currently seeking highly motivated volunteer strength and conditioning coaches for their unpaid mentorship program. Candidates must be highly motivated in seeking a career in the field of strength and conditioning. Candidates can expect a rigorous educational curriculum, coaching development, and possible recommendations to set them up to pursue a career in the field of strength and conditioning. The mentorship will start August 24th and end December 1st. No monetary compensation will be provided, however, there is the option of part time work in the town of Monroe if needed. Candidates must be currently working towards or hold one of the following certifications: CSCS or CSCCA. Candidates will be expected to have and maintain a high work ethic, disciplined schedule, and must be punctual.
