Liberty (FCS): The Liberty University Strength and Conditioning Department, a member of the FCS and Big South Conference is currently seeking qualified VOLUNTEER intern candidates for the 2015 Summer beginning May 11th and running through July 31st. Interns will have the opportunity to work with a variety of NCAA Division 1 sports while learning under an experienced strength staff featuring two CSCCA Master Strength coaches. Those hoping to sit for the CSCCA’s SCCC certification will be able to complete all requirements for the internship process during their time. Intern responsibilities consist of but are not limited to set up and maintenance of equipment for workouts, supervising athletes during group and individual training, data entry, active participation in projects and assignments throughout internship and completion of educational curriculum designed to instil a better understanding of program design and implementation. Qualifications: Applicants must be CPR/AED certified and possess one of the following certifications, CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), USAW or NASM. Compensation: Experience and college credit as applicable, potential for future job recommendations, and gear as available. There is NO MONETARY compensation available for this position. William Penn (D-III - IA): William Penn University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach. This is a 12 month position starting May 25th with a two year commitment. Full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend are included. Candidates must be admissible to the graduate program with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and implementation for a variety of William Penn University’s collegiate sports. The qualified candidate will be assigned sports based on his/her background and experience. The position will also assist the Head Strength & Conditioning coach, help with maintenance of the Randleman Fitness Center, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. Proven knowledge and experience with sport specific strength, speed, and agility programs is necessary. Candidates must hold a BA/BS in exercise science or a health related field and be working toward certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association or the SCCC through the CSCCa.
