Kent State: The Kent State University Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for volunteer interns, for Football, during the summer of 2016. This Strength & Conditioning internship requires that you be receiving class credit. Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a strong desire to become a Strength & Conditioning Professional. CSCS, USAW, or SCCC preferred. Weekends may be required. Compensation: This is an unpaid voluntary position. Candidates will gain experience training Division-1 athletes, exposure to sports nutrition, program design, professionalism, and have the potential to earn recommendation towards future employment in the field. The internship will run from May 16 through July 29. Jacksonville:Jacksonville University Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS for the FALL 2016 semester. The approximate start date is August 22, 2016 through December 9, 2016. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for football and all 18 varsity Olympic Sports, daily maintenance and upkeep of equipment in the weight room, assisting in teaching proper technique to student athletes, and professional development. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Interns will receive experience working for a Division I University, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Candidates must have a strong work-ethic and a strong desire to be in the collegiate strength and conditioning coaching field. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (CSCCA, SCCC, NSCA, CSCS, USAW) are preferred or in pursuit of certification.
