Buffalo: State University of New York at Buffalo Football Strength and Conditioning Staff is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for a Football strength and conditioning internship for the Spring 2016. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program as well as daily maintenance of weight room and facilities. This is an UNPAID position, living and transportation arrangements will NOT be provided. If chosen for this internship opportunity you will gain valuable experience, be educated on training philosophy, Olympic lifting modalities, and how to structure and execute a successful strength and conditioning program. Minimum qualifications: Strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should have or be working towards attaining their bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field and at least one of the following Certifications or in the process of acquiring these certifications: CSCS, SCCC. Preferred qualifications: Prior experience, Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree or enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s program, CSCS. Samford: Samford is looking to hire a director of sports nutrition that willwork closely with the athletes and promotes nutrition as an essential component in performance as well as, overall health. In addition to attending to athletes' nutritional needs, this position works in conjunction with the team coaches, medical staff, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning staff, and administrators in order to ensure all athletes a comprehensive team of professionals who can assist in maximizing their athletic performance. Duties include: Counsel athletes on optimal nutrition for exercise training, competition, recovery from exercise, weight management, hydration, disordered eating, travel, and supplementation. Assess and analyze dietary practices, energy balance (intake and expenditure), and current medical status of athletes to develop and implement plans. Education in food selection (grocery store tours, food storage, cafe tours). Develop and deliver nutrition education presentations, demonstrations, or events on various topics related to nutrition for performance in all sports. Evaluation nutritional supplements, including herbal supplements, for legality, safety, quality, and efficacy; monitor use of appropriate supplementation. Assist in coordinating body composition assessments, interpreting the data, and counseling athletes on achieving and maintaining values consistent with maximizing health and performance. Work with chef (campus dining) on meals for student-athletes on campus to approve menus and increase attendance at meals. Travel with football. Coordinate team nutrition at home, away hotels, practice field, halftime during games, and on the sideline Assist in developing resources and learning opportunities to support educational efforts such as print media, web based media, and social media; develop and conduct recruiting presentations. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Clinical Nutrition, Food and Nutrition or a related area. Two years' prior relevant experience Registered Dietitian or RD Eligible with completion of didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by Commission on Dietetic Accreditation.
