Villanova: Villanova University is seeking 2 highly motivated and qualified individuals for a 12 month and 11 month internship. The 12 month internship will begin June 1, 2012 and end May 31, 2013. The 11 month internship will begin July 1, 2012 and end May 31, 2013. Each position will include a $1000/month stipend along with health insurance and meals. Individuals selected will receive an all encompassing and unique experience working with both Olympic sports and football. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: monitoring, cleaning and organizing the sports performance facility; managing a nutrition bar; assisting head strength and conditioning coaches for Olympic sports and football in all aspects of the sports performance program. Requirements: Qualified applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and be working towards one of the following certifications: SCCC or CSCS. Prior internship experience is also required. Washington: The University of Washington seeks an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach who will design, develop and deliver comprehensive and coordinated training programs for designated Intercollegiate Athletic teams. In partnership with the Head Coach of assigned teams, establish and manage an accountability structure and standards. Establish performance measures and targets. Organize teaching sequences of training techniques for fall orientation and throughout the year. Teach proper execution of techniques and safety for lifts and drills. Introduce and teach the objectives of each training phase to student-athletes. Effectively motivate athletes to achieve the maximum potential in all areas of performance. Evaluate training phases and coordinate and conduct testing, compile and communicate test results. Requirements: Bachelor's degree required; physical education or related field preferred. Master’s degree preferred. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.) through National Strength and Conditioning Association required. United States Weightlifting Club Coach certification also preferred. Minimum of three years coaching experience in the Strength and Conditioning field at a four year college or University level, working with a variety of teams required. Experience with the instruction of all Olympic lifts required.
