Eastern Washington: Eastern Washington University is accepting internship applications for the 2012 winter quarter. The planned dates of the internship will be January 9th to March 19th, with the option based on evaluation to extend through June 8th. Interested candidates must be enthusiastic, adaptable, organized, and highly driven, and have interest in pursuing a career as a strength and conditioning coach. Applicants would be working with football, along with another program of their choice. Possibility to design and implement programming for select groups. Achievement or pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field along with certification through the NSCA, CSCCa or USAW is required. Previous experience with program design and time spent in the collegiate training environment are encouraged but not required. The deadline to apply for this position is December 31, 2011. Eastern Michigan: Is seeking candidates for a Sports Performance Internship. Qualifications: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. CPR/AED certified. Must have a strong work ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. Ideal candidates will have completed or currently pursuing your CSCS, CSCCa, or USAW during your internship. Compensation: No monetary compensation will be provided. Opportunities for professional development (conferences, certifications, books, DVD’s, gear, training table) will be available. Job Description: The objective of the internship program is to develop strong minds within strong bodies through motivated coaching and education in order to effectively prepare for the demands of the field. Interns will be given substantial responsibility within our program in order to better prepare them for success in future coaching positions. Daily duties and responsibilities will be assigned as well as readings and projects in order to enhance professional development.
