Samford (FCS - AL): Samford University Department of Strength and Conditioning (Football Only) is now accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERN. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for football, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and participation in weekly projects and professional development throughout the internship program. Compensation: Division 1 Football experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Candidates must have a strong work-ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW) are preferred. MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY (FCS - MD): Morgan State University Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for fall 2012 Strength and Conditioning Internship. Responsibilities will include 1.) Assist with development and implementation of sport specific strength & conditioning programs. 2.) Office and organizational duties. 3.) Maintenance of equipment and training facilities. 4.) Other duties as assigned by strength and conditioning staff. Required qualifications: currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field, highly motivated, certified in CPR/First Aid, and strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: proficient in Microsoft word and excel, currently pursuing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s). Compensation: This is a volunteer position. No stipend or housing available. Individual will gain experience in a division I college strength & conditioning setting as well as future recommendation. Internship hours will be given as approved by the applicants’ institution.
