Please join us in praying for the family of Sacramento State strength assistant Jeff Law, who passed away recently. Law worked at Northern Iowa, Texas Tech, and Ole Miss and will be missed by many.

Midwestern State (D-II -TX): Midwestern State University Strength and Conditioning program is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for strength and conditioning interns for Fall 2014. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Midwestern State University’s 12 Division II intercollegiate athletic programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; completion of various educational assignments during the internship are required. Qualifications: strong work ethic; punctuality; enthusiasm; desire to further one’s career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Preferred qualifications: pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field; NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification. One year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletics experience is preferred but not required. Compensation: This is a non- paid position, but offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. Akron: The Strength and Conditioning Football Program at the University of Akron is now accepting qualified volunteer/internship applications for the Fall semester. This is an unpaid position that includes valuable coaching experience, and a very intense internship curriculum that will force you to grow as a coach and professional. Responsibilities include assisting with supervision of training programs, facility maintenance, and all tasks required to keep up with internship curriculum . Intern qualifications include but are not limited too, incredible work ethic, passion, and a desire to learn. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s in Exercise Science or related field; CPR/AED certified; CSCS, SCCC, and/or USAW certification. Merrimack College: Scott Leech has been announced as the new assistant strength and conditioning coach at Merrimack College. Leech most recently served in a graduate assistant role at Springfield College.
