University of Wyoming: Wyoming is seeking applicants for a graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach. General Duties/Description: Design, develop and deliver comprehensive and coordinated training programs for designated Intercollegiate Athletic teams. In partnership with the Head Coach of assigned teams, establish and manage an accountability structure and standards. Establish performance measures and targets. Organize teaching sequences of training techniques for fall orientation and throughout the year. Teach proper execution of techniques and safety for lifts and drills. Applicant must possess a strong knowledge of teaching technique of Olympic-style lifting exercises. Introduce and teach the objectives of each training phase to student-athletes. Effectively motivate athletes to achieve the maximum potential in all areas of performance. Evaluate training phases and coordinate and conduct testing, compile and communicate test results. Develop summer training manuals. Communicate and work in partnership with athletic trainers to provide an integrated program of injury prevention reconditioning and performance training. Assist with recruiting. Implement and enforce all rules, policies and procedures with regard to the weight room and equipment. Assist with programs as required by the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. Assist with the day to day cleaning, maintenance and operation of the Strength training facility. Be flexible to work irregular hours. Accept other duties as assigned by Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. Effectively work, write, speak and communicate with staff, administrators and other coaches in the athletic department. Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA and the Mountain West Conference is of paramount importance to the University. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.) through National Strength and Conditioning Association or sitting for exam is required. Minimum of two years coaching experience in the Strength and Conditioning field at a four year college or University level, working with a variety of teams or having a background as competitive collegiate athlete required. FILING DEADLINE: Position begins Wednesday January 4, 2012.
