North Texas: UNT is a proud member of Conference USA Athletics and is searching for aspiring strength and conditioning coaches to fill volunteer mentorship coaching positions available for the 2016 SUMMER semester (5/30 – 8/12). Prospective mentorship candidates will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the North Texas Strength and Conditioning coaching staff, a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCCa) approved mentor, as well as gain in-valuable hands-on experience working with Division I athletes (both Football and Olympic sports). Mentees will have the opportunity to participate in the UNT Strength and Conditioning Professional Development & Educational Curriculum. Please note, this is a voluntary position and there is no monetary compensation. Applicants should be committed to developing themselves as a strength and conditioning professional and devoted to working their way up in the strength and conditioning coaching profession. Iowa State: Reid Kagy has joined the staff as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Kagy previously worked as a graduate assistant at Cincinnati before being promoted to assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2014. Prior to Cincinnati, Kagy worked as a strength intern at Toledo and UAB.

Kentucky: The University of Kentucky's Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning department is seeking volunteer interns for Summer 2016. Interns will have the opportunity to work with all the Olympic sports at the University of Kentucky. Volunteer interns may have the opportunity to earn a paid intern position come Fall 2016. Applicants must possess a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach, have or be working towards a certification through CSCCa, USAW, and/or NSCA. Prior experience working in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting and coaching Olympic lifts is preferred. Applicants must have outstanding work ethic and integrity. Details of Volunteer Internship Program: Start Date – May 31, 2016; End Date – August 4, 2016 (negotiable). Interns will complete our internship curriculum which includes programming projects, drills to improve coaching ability on the floor, how to network within the profession, and preparation for future job opportunities. Interns will also have the opportunity to work alongside our nutrition department, experience working in an SEC athletic program, earn a positive recommendation and evaluation based on work performance, and receive credit towards completion of a college degree or certification. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. There may be opportunities to earn income through a local weightlifting club and assisting with coaching clinics. Breakfast will be provided in the morning. Saginaw Valley State (D-II - MI): Saginaw Valley State University Strength and Conditioning, an NCAA Division II institution, is seeking two full-time UNPAID interns for the Summer 2016 semester. Full- time Interns must possess a strong work ethic, a desire to excel in the field of strength and conditioning and have a strong strength training background. Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting the Strength and Conditioning staff in developing and administering all phases of speed, strength and conditioning programs to all varsity sports. The individuals will serve as top assistants for select varsity sports as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Qualifications: Must be working towards a degree in the field of exercise science or similar. Individuals must possess or be working towards a CSCS, and additionally have the option of completing the internship practicum for the CSCCa Examination.
