Western Kentucky: Western Kentucky University Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Intern primarily for Football and possibly other responsibilities as designated by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Spring/Summer 2014 semester. Individuals who apply should be highly motivated, have strong work ethic, be punctual, and have a strong desire to become a future strength and conditioning coach. Daily duties will consist of aiding the strength and conditioning staff with assessments of student athletes, sitting in on meetings when designing programs, implementation of programs, performing proper lifting techniques, motivating athletes, and general maintenance of the strength and conditioning facility. The program is designed for a post bachelor professional looking for experience. Compensation: Division 1 football strength and conditioning experience, WKU Football athletic apparel, and earned recommendation for future career opportunities. No monetary compensation will be provided. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Kinesiology or related field and a certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW.
