St. Louis: Saint Louis University is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Sports Performance Coach. This is a non-benefited Intern position. This position will also meet the requirements needed to sit for the CSCCa (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified) certification examination. Responsibilities: coordinating with coaching staffs of assigned teams in the design & implementation of year-round strength & conditioning programs at SLU (TBD); assisting in the complete training of all teams, student workers, projects, scheduling, cleaning and maintenance of facilities. Applicants must have strong knowledge in teaching the various techniques of Olympic style weight lifting. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required-Masters preferred in appropriate field. SCCC certification preferred/ not required. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a collegiate athletic setting. Commitment to the profession of sports performance is a must. Washington: The University of Washington Football Strength and Conditioning staff is looking for one unpaid intern for the 2014 football season. The candidate will gain experience working with a Division I football team through in season training. Duties will include weight room set up and take down, daily maintenance, and any other duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Applicants should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher and certified or seeking certification through the NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW. Every applicant needs to be CPR/AED certified. This position will receive no monetary compensation, so if this is not an option for you then please do not apply. Start date will be August 25th, 2014 and will run through the end of football season.
