Maine (FCS): The University of Maine is seeking applications for 2 Assistant Speed, Strength & Conditioning Coaches. Both are full time, fiscal year positions. Typically has the education associated with a Bachelor;s Degree required, Master's Degree preferred in Exercise Science or related field; excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills required; must possess a current CPR certification at time of hire or must attain one within 1 month of the date of hire; must be a current member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach certification is preferred; must demonstrate knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; ability to lift up to fifty pounds; working knowledge of the repair and maintenance of athletic strength and training equipment; successful supervisory experience; ability to demonstrate and communicate proper spotting and lifting techniques. Pre-employment physical required.

South Dakota: The University of South Dakota’s Strength and Conditioning Department is looking for a motivated individual who is interested in an internship for the Fall Semester of 2013. Qualifications: All applicants must have a background in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Kinesiology or related field. Applicants must also be in pursuit of obtaining a CSCS, USAW, or SCCC certification as well as being CPR certified. Individuals who apply should be highly motivated, have strong work ethic, be punctual, and have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. Duties: Duties will include aiding the strength and conditioning staff with assessments of student athletes, sitting in on meetings when designing programs, implementation of programs, performing proper lifting techniques, motivating athletes, and general maintenance and cleaning of the strength and conditioning facility. Benefits:to the candidate would include experience in strength and conditioning at a collegiate level, internship manual, potential to earn a recommendation toward further pursuits in the field, further learning of proper exercise technique via staff lifts and the ability to further professional learning and development through staff article discussions. Compensation: This is an unpaid position; however, the possibility exists for class credit toward graduation from current institution, athletic apparel when available, and potential to earn future recommendations and employment. Winthrop University (SC): Winthrop is accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning Interns and/or Volunteer Assistants for the Fall and Spring semesters. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Winthrop's 16 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; completion of various educational assignments during the internship are required. Qualifications include: strong work ethic; punctuality; enthusiasm; desire to further one’s career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Preferred qualifications include: pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field; NSCA-CPT, CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certifications; CPR certification and coaching experience. Individuals chosen for the position are subject to college/university background checks. This is a Volunteer position. Interns and/or Volunteer Assistants will receive experience working at a Division I program, better understand program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
