Clemson: Clemson University Department of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill Fall 2013 (August 12 – December 13) internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Individuals will also have the opportunity to work with all the Olympic sports that train out of Jervey weight room. It may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, and professional development throughout internship program. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Pursuing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s) Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. Will gain experience as well as future recommendation for employment. Baylor: Baylor University Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for the Fall 2013 Athletic Performance Internship Program. Deadline to apply is July 31st and the start date will be August 15, 2013. This is an unpaid position. Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field; CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification; CPR certification. Interns will receive experience working in a Big 12 training environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
