The University of Mary Washington (VA): The University of Mary Washington Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for volunteer/intern strength and conditioning coaches for the Fall of 2015. In this role you will assist the Director of Strength and Conditioning in all aspects of the UMW Strength and Conditioning Program. Duties include set up and break down of room, assisting with team and individual workouts, and daily maintenance of facility. Qualifications: strong work ethic, punctuality, and a desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. There is NO monetary compensation for this position. However, candidates will receive hands on experience at the collegiate level, and college credit towards graduation if applicable. Robert Morris (FCS - PA): The Robert Morris University Strength and Conditioning Staff is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for a strength and conditioning internship for the Fall 2015 Semester. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program as well as daily maintenance of weight room and facilities. This is an unpaid position. If chosen for this internship opportunity, you will gain valuable experience, be educated on training philosophy, Olympic lifts, and how to structure and execute a successful strength and conditioning program. Qualifications include: strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should have, or be working towards attaining their bachelor’s degree in a related field. Notre Dame College (D-II - OH): Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio, is currently accepting applications for (2) volunteer strength and conditioning interns for Fall semester 2015. Candidates must demonstrate a strong work ethic and be interested in pursuing a career in strength and conditioning. Responsibilities include assist and running assigned teams through workout sessions, help enforce facility policies and rules, daily facility maintenance. Interns will gain experience training a variety of Division II sports. This internship will be from August 24th 2015 to December 4th 2015. Required qualifications: candidates must be in the process of earning or already have earned their bachelor’s degree and in the process of taking their CSCS and/or USAW certifications. Nicholls State (FCS - LA): Nicholls State University Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Intern for Football and Olympic Sports for the Fall 2015 semester. The Nicholls staff is looking for highly motivated, aspiring strength coaches that want to work at the collegiate level. The program is beneficial for undergraduate students and the graduated professional looking for experience; as well as develops characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. The successful candidates will also be responsible for design and implementation of a strength and conditioning program for one NCAA Division 1 team. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. No monetary compensation will be provided. Ideal candidates will have completed or working towards completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field, as well as completion or in the process of obtaining one of the following certification: CSCS; SCCC; USAW. NC State: Memphis director of Olympic sports Nate Brookerson is now working at NC State in the same role.

Ave Maria (NAIA - FL): Ave Maria University is seeking applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Coordinator/Assistant Defensive Football Coach. This is a full time, 12 month position with a dual reporting line to the Director of Athletics and the Head Football Coach. Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience working with the defensive line and also working with all student-athletes coordinating the strength and conditioning program. The applicant’s specific football duties will be adjusted according to their experience and strengths. Along with coaching football, applicants must be able to supervise weight training and conditioning workouts as well as design and implement training programs. They should know how to evaluate and test student-athletes from all athletic teams in sport specific areas of progress and performance in strength, speed and conditioning. Current CPR/AED First Aid Certification will be required. CSCS Certification and/or SCCC Certification is preferred. This position pays $24,000 plus benefits. Eastern Illinois: The Eastern Illinois University Strength and Conditioning department is seeking applicants for the 2015 Fall semester internship program. These are UNPAID positions designed for those interested in pursuing a career in strength and conditioning. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail. Preferred qualifications include completion of a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field, a strength and conditioning certification (CSCS, USAW, or CSCCa), and experience coaching and performing the Olympic lifts. Successful candidates will have an ability to work with a number of Division 1 sport teams, including football. Completion of this internship can fulfill potential credit hours towards an undergraduate or graduate degree. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, assisting in set up and breakdown of daily training sessions, weight room maintenance, coaching and teaching athletes, as well as participation in the intern development curriculum. The internship will begin August 4th.
