Catawba College (D-II - NC): Catawba College is seeking applications for TWO UNPAID Strength and Conditioning Internship opportunities beginning May 30, 2016 until August 3, 2016. The positions will work with Catawba Football primarily; the South Atlantic Conference Champions from the 2015 season. Opportunities with other sports depends on their summer enrollment and attendance. Preferred applicants must be highly motivated, have a tremendous work ethic, and be interested in becoming a Strength/Performance Coach. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in all aspects of program administration. The position requires working directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique, assess and document progress of the student athletes during training, and maintain a clean, sanitized weight room. As an intern in Catawba Strength & Conditioning, you will follow a protocol that allows you to learn how to: learn and teach proper lifting position and technique, research relevant training modalities, create exercise banks, develop training programs and manipulate those programs based on time of year, sport-specificity, exercise progression, training age, and available equipment. All interns, if applicable, will have the opportunity for credit towards graduation with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Exercise Science or a related major.
