Prarie View A&M: Prairie View A&M University – Prairie View A&M University is currently seeking applicants for Spring and Summer 2013 UNPAID internship positions. Interns will have the opportunity to work with athletes from all of Prairie View’s 18 Division 1 teams. Daily responsibilities include teaching, demonstrating and correcting technique in the weightroom; assisting in programming for all sports; assisting in the testing of all athletes; and cleaning and maintaining weightroom facilities. This is an unpaid position, but interns can potentially earn course credit from their university if applicable. Other benefits include apparel, the opportunity to gain experience at a Division 1 University, and potential for future references. Applicants must be able to coach male and female athletes effectively. Prior experience in a high school or college athletics setting is preferred but not required. Applicants must be able to teach and demonstrate the Olympic lifts. Certification (or working towards certification) through the NSCA, CSCCa or USAW is preferred. First Aid and CPR/AED certification is required. Applicant should have a strong desire to become a professional strength & conditioning coach.
