South Carolina: The University of South Carolina Football Strength and Conditioning department are accepting applications for the position of Football Volunteer Intern for the Spring semester. There are 12 positions available. Compensation: Division I Intercollegiate experience, earned recommendation toward further success as a Strength & Conditioning Coach, and college credit toward graduation if applicable. Qualifications: Minimum requirements: Strong work ethic, Highly motivated; Must be in a Bachelor’s degree program geared toward Exercise Physiology or a related field; CPR/AED certification; Experience as a college athlete or in a college strength and conditioning setting. Northwestern State: Northwestern State University Strength & Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for the position of Strength & Conditioning Intern for the Spring of 2013 semester. COMPENSATION: This is an unpaid position; gear will be provided, and potential for low cost housing and a meal plan is available. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prospective interns will have the opportunity to work with a division 1 athletics program under the guidance of the strength and conditioning staff. Duties will include (but no limited) assisting the strength and conditioning staff with set-up/break-down of equipment, weight room upkeep/maintenance, assisting with design and implementation of programs for select sports. QUALIFICATIONS: Completion/pursuing of degree in exercise science or related field, USAW, CSCS, CSCCa preferred but not essential, AED/CPR certification, ability to gather and compile data, and use of Microsoft office programs is essential. Opportunity for promotion to Graduate Assistant position is possible. Northwestern State: Northwestern State University Strength & Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. Start date will be January 7. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, designing & implementing year-round strength & conditioning programs for select teams at NSU (TBA); assisting in the training of all teams, scheduling team workouts, cleaning and maintaining facilities. Requirements: CSCS, USAW, or SCCC not required but preferred; current CPR/AED certification is required; ability to gather data, prepare reports, and work with Microsoft Office programs; strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, organizational skills. The candidate must be applied to the Graduate Program BEFORE RESUME WILL BE REVIEWED. Compensation includes 5,000 dollars for each fall and spring semester, summer compensation is available. A full meal plan will be provided, full outfit of gear, travel possibilities, and ability to obtain a Master’s degree.
