East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Strength & Conditioning is looking for two hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who are confident, have a presence, and are able to coach Division 1 Football Student-Athletes for the Spring 2016 Semester. The two people chosen for this position must be able to start January 19th, 2016- May 8th, 2016. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning throughout the country. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. This will be a Hands on experience w/ responsibilities assigned based on previous experience and 2. Assist Strength staff with the implementation of strength & conditioning programs for ETSU Football. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Successful candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete. Each candidate should have extensive knowledge of teaching and coaching strength and conditioning exercises and Speed and Agility Drills. Illinois: The University of Illinois Football Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for internship positions for the Spring Semester of 2016. The internship will begin January 11th, 2016 and will end May 13th, 2016. Interns will have the opportunity to work with University of Illinois Football Program. These internships are unpaid and non-coaching positions. Prerequisites: The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field and be CPR and First Aid certified. Candidates must be working toward or considering pursuing certification through the CSCCa and/or NSCA. Those accepted will assist in the day to day operations of the facility, including: assistance with administrative duties, cleaning and maintenance duties, set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout, as well as participation in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Candidates must possess strong work ethic, character and a desire to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning field. Candidates must be able to commit a considerable amount of time to practical strength and conditioning experience must have outstanding work ethic and attention to detail. This is a great opportunity to gain experience at the Division 1 level and expand knowledge in the field of strength and conditioning.
