University of Maine: is now accepting applications for the Fall 2011 Strength & Conditioning Internship. Responsibilities will begin on or about August 29, 2011 and run through December 16, 2011. Responsibilities will include 1.) Assist with implementation of sport specific strength & conditioning programs. 2.) Office duties. 3.) Maintenance of equipment and training facilities. 4.) Other duties as assigned by strength & conditioning staff. 5.) Must adhere to the rules of the University of Maine Athletics Department, NCAA, and the CAA, American East and Hockey East Conferences. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and strong desire to become a College Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: proficient in Microsoft word and excel, currently pursuing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s) Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. Individual will gain experience in a division I college strength & conditioning setting as well as future recommendation. College credit will be given as approved by their institution.
