Iona: The Strength and Conditioning Department at IonaCollege in New Rochelle, NY, is accepting internship applications from college students completing requirements in Exercise Science and other related fields, for the fall, spring, and summer of 2010-2011. IonaCollege is a Division 1 athletic program competing in the MAAC Conference. The Internship opportunity would provide interns with the opportunity to work directly with student athletes of all 21 Division 1 sports. The intern would have the opportunity to observe and coach the diverse student athlete population. Duties would include assisting Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in all aspects of the program, including programming, strength training, agility training, conditioning, and maintenance of facilities. Interns must have a strong desire to work in strength and conditioning and be working towards or have attained their CSCS. Baylor University: Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for Spring 2011 Athletic Performance Interns. Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include: Strong work ethic; Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Desire to further one’s career in the strength and conditioning field; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field; CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification; CPR certification. This is an unpaid internship. Interns will receive experience working in a Big 12 training environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
