After a third-place tie in the Ohio Valley Conference standings last fall, Tennessee Tech is seeking to show more progress in a pivotal sixth year for head coach Dewayne Alexander.
Now Alexander has a veteran offensive assistant in the fold for his Golden Eagles' 2023 campaign.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Alexander and TTU have added Brad Robbins.
Robbins will coach the Golden Eagles' wideouts.
But Robbins' depth in coaching covers a variety of offensive duties. A former star player at the University of Virginia-Wise, Robbins also has served as an offensive play-caller. He ran the show and coached quarterbacks at North Greenville University (S.C.), and he also has previous stints coaching wideouts at Football Championship Subdivision programs Charleston Southern and VMI.
Robbins initiated his career as a graduate assistant coach for the Virginia Cavaliers.
Tech opens its 2023 campaign Thursday, Aug. 31, at Furman, which posted an 11-win campaign and advanced in the 2022 FCS Playoffs. The Golden Eagles play a money game the next week on the road at Football Bowls Subdivision program New Mexico.
Their first home game is Sept. 16 against North Alabama.
