Baltimore Ravens: John Harbaugh will return for a 12th season in 2019, the club announced Friday.
James Madison (FCS – VA): Per source, James Madison will hire Mississippi State quality control assistant Andrew Jackson as defensive tackles coach. Jackson has previously served on staffs at Penn State and Stony Brook.
Kansas State: Collin Klein (quarterbacks) and Blake Seiler (defensive line) have been retained to Chris Klieman’s staff. They are Klieman’s first hires to the new K-State staff.
Maine (FCS): The Black Bears have promoted offensive coordinator Nick Charlton to head coach. “I am extremely excited and humbled to be named the head football coach of the University of Maine,” Charlton said in a statement.
USC: USC has promoted Joe DeForest from a defensive analyst position to outside linebackers coach, completing Clay Helton’s on-field 2019 staff. With the move, Johnny Nansen will coach inside linebackers while remaining assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator, Keary Colbert will coach wide receivers, Tim Drevno will coach the offensive line, John Baxter will add tight ends to his special teams duties and Clancy Pendergast will remain on as defensive coordinator.
Indiana State (FCS): Sources tell FootballScoop Aaron Young is being promoted to quarterbacks coach.
ECU: Marshall linebackers coach Byron Thweatt is expected to join the staff sources tell FootballScoop. The move was first released by 247. Prior to joining the Marshall staff, Thweatt worked with Mike Houston at James Madison (FCS – VA).
Illinois: University of Illinois is seeking a graduate assistant on defense. The successful candidate must be able to gain admittance into the Graduate College. Interested coaches email only: [email protected] No phone calls please.
Liberty: In addition to the new hires below, sources tell FootballScoop Aaron Wilkins and Kyle DeArmon have been retained and are moving into new roles off the field. Running backs coach Mike Brown will remain in his role we are told.

Liberty: Sources tell FootballScoop Hugh Freeze has his offensive staff coming together. Sources tell us West Georgia offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Sam Gregg will join the staff coaching offensive line. Additionally, Ole Miss tight ends coach Maurice Harris is expected to join Freeze’s staff as receivers coach. Harris & Freeze coached together at Arkansas State and at Ole Miss. Last night we shared that Tanner Burns (special teams) and Ben Aigamaua (tight ends) have joined the staff per sources. Both Burns & Aigamaua played for Freeze.
Appalachian State: Per source, tight ends coach Nic Cardwell is not being retained.
Masters of Sports Administration: Upper Iowa’s MSA degree provides learners with the current theories, concepts, and learning models necessary to assume administrative, coaching and leadership roles in high school, higher education and sports business settings. The online degree is available with emphasis in Sports Management or Coaching & Leadership Eduction.
UConn: Defensive coordinator Billy Crocker and defensive backs coach Curome Cox have been let go. Director of strength and conditioning Eric Klein and assistant strength coach JD Mehlhorn will also not be retained. Also, UConn has announced that offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach John Dunn is adding the title of associate head coach.
Navy: Following the retirement of defensive coordinator Dale Pehrson; sources tell FootballScoop Ken Niumatalolo has decided to make sweeping changes to his defensive staff. We are told outside linebackers coach Napoleon Sykes, safeties coach Dan O’Brien, corners coach RB Green and defensive ends coach Tony Grantham all are not expected to return. Earlier this month defensive tackles coach Sione Po’uha left to join the staff at Utah. Appears once Ken finalizes a deal with his new defensive coordinator he will be tasked with bringing in a nearly a full defensive staff.
Oklahoma Panhandle State (NAIA): Bob Majeski Jr. has been named head coach. Majeski previously served as the head coach at Black Hills State (NAIA – SD) and Dodge City CC (JC – KS). Majeski has served as linebackers coach at Stetson (FCS – FL) the past few seasons.
Hastings (NAIA – NE): Hastings College is seeking an offensive graduate assistant coach, working with either either running backs or wide receivers. This is a 10 month position that includes a stipend, free tuition, and possible housing on-campus. The successful candidate will coach his own position, run positional meetings, and assist with all special teams. Candidates must be able to get accepted into graduate school (2.75 minimum GPA) and pass the Praxis test. Review of candidates will begin immediately with possible interviews at the AFCA Convention.
