Florida: Responding to a message board post that Chip Kelly to Florida was “basically a done deal,” Scott Stricklin wrote on Twitter, “There is a lot of bad (i.e. incorrect) info out there, but this is a whole other level of bad info.”
Kansas: Chancellor Doug Girod reiterates in a statement to campus and the community that he has faith in AD Sheahon Zenger and head coach David Beaty, adding, “nobody denies the challenges we are having on the field, but I maintain my believe in coach that Sheahon and coach Beaty have the right long-term vision and are doing things the right way.”
Anderson (D-III – IN): Anderson has announced that after three seasons leading the program, head coach Joe Sala will not return. Anderson finished 1-9 this season, 1-9 in 2016 and 2-8 in his first season.
Western New Mexico (D-II): Adam Clark has stepped down as head coach at Western New Mexico source tells FootballScoop. Clark who holds the highest winning percentage in WNMU history over the past 20 years, stepped down to pursue other opportunities in the profession we understand.
New York Giants: Ownership released the following statement this afternoon, “Ben McAdoo is our head coach and has our support. We are in the midst of an extremely disappointing season. Our performance this year, particularly the past two weeks, is inexcusable and frustrating. While we appreciate that our fans are unhappy with what has occurred, nobody is more upset than we are. Our plan is to do what we have always done, which is to not offer a running commentary on the season. It is our responsibility to determine the reasons for our poor performance and at the end of the year, we will evaluate the 2017 season in its entirety and make a determination on how we move forward.”

Coaches potentially on the move: A look at buyout information for 15 coaches teams might be looking to hire.
Nebraska: AD Bill Moos said Monday that head coach Mike Riley will finish the 2017 season. “It’s not like I’ve got a coach to hire this afternoon at 3:30,” Moos said Monday, via ESPN. “Mike Riley deserves to finish the 2017 season. That’s how I operate.” Nebraska is 4-6 this season and needs to beat No. 14 Penn State and No. 20 Iowa to reach a bowl game.

East Central (D-II – OK): Head coach Tim McCarty has resigned. McCarty served 11 seasons as the Tigers’ head coach in two separate stints, the second of which covered the last nine seasons. “It has been an honor to serve as this program’s head coach. I am very honored to have had this opportunity,” he said. Offensive coordinator Rashad Jackson has been named interim head coach as a national search for McCarty’s replacement begins.
Texas A&M: ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg wrote in an ESPN Insider piece (according to this link on SEC Country) that once Scott Woodward makes it official with Kevin Sumlin, “Don’t be surprised if the school kicks the tires on TCU’s Gary Patterson, Washington’s Chris Petersen, Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher and Clemson’s Dabo Swinney (yes, you read that right).” We don’t need to tell our readers Dabo isn’t taking calls. We can relay that Scott Woodward has been doing his homework for quite some time, for in the event he has to make a move. Based on what we know, we would expect Woodward to act with precision on this one.
Florida: This weekend internet message boards in Florida (who knew those still existed) apparently started lighting up with reports that Chip Kelly was close to signing up with Florida. While it would be fun to see Chip at Florida, for what it is worth, we have not heard that from any contacts in the coaching profession. Will update as more information on this search begins to come together. We can relay, as we reported last week, Scott Stricklin has been out, doing his due diligence. This one should not go long. Update> Once again, Florida AD Scott Stricklin has tweeted that the reports regarding Chip Kelly are simply not accurate.
Tennessee: Brady Hoke stated today defensive grad assistant Nate Ollie would take over much of the defensive line work moving forward.
Concordia University (D-III – Chicago, IL): Concordia University Chicago Football is accepting applications for the position of offensive graduate assistant. The position is to begin January 2018. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: coaching a skill position on the offensive side of the ball, managing a recruiting area, video breakdown and any other duties assigned by the Head Football Coach. The position includes Graduate classes and a small stipend. Candidates must have collegiate playing experience or have coached offensively at the varsity high school level for at least 2 years. Tennessee: Manish Meta of the New York Daily News reports that Tennessee has expressed interest in New York Jets defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers. Rodgers played at Tennessee in the late 80’s into the early 90’s and his last experience coaching college football was in 2002 as the defensive line coach at Arkansas. Rodgers coached defensive line (or just tackles) for the Cowboys & Dolphins from 2003 – 2014 before joining the Jets staff. Meta adds “It hasn’t been determined yet whether Rodgers will interview for the job.”
