Utah State: Sources tell FootballScoop the Utah State search continues… 

Green Bay: Associate head coach / outside linebackers Winston Moss has been let go. Calling out Aaron Rogers on twitter might or might not have had something to do with the decision.

Maryland: Source tells FootballScoop Mike Locksley will be the new head coach at Maryland. Brett McMurphy was first to report the hire.

Charlotte: Charlotte has officially announced Will Healy as the next 49ers head coach. “If there’s one thing I’ve done right, I’ve hired right.” Here’s Healy’s Q&A with FootballScoop from last year.

Louisville: Scott Satterfield will make $3.25 million a year on a 6-year deal. Bobby Petrino earned $3.98 million in 2018, while Satterfield made $712,500 at App State, per USA Today.

Willamette (D-III – OR): Lewis & Clark (D-III – OR) offensive coordinator Isaac Parker has been named head coach at Willamette.

Tyler (JC – TX): Danny Palmer has decided to step down as head coach and is being reassigned in the athletic department, the school has announced.

Kentucky State (D-II): Head coach John L. Smith and the school are parting ways after three seasons.

Urban Meyer: Ohio State AD Gene Smith noted he looks forward to working with Urban Meyer in his new role within Ohio State athletics (details to be announced). When asked, Urban offered, “I believe I will not coach again.”

Broyles Award: Mike Locksley has won the Broyles Award.

Ohio State: Ryan Day’s contract is five years, $4.5 million the university has released.

Trine (D-III – IN): Trine University has an immediate opening for either a quarterback or running backs coach. This is a full-time position with benefits and a salary commensurate with experience. Other responsibilities within the football program will be discussed with selected applicants. Candidates MUST have at least five years of previous college coaching experience or four years of college playing experience plus five years of high school coaching experience. Depression: Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason’s daughter Makenzie penned an incredibly powerful piece for ESPN The Magazine about dealing with depression. Coaches, you should read this. Everyone should read this.

Independence CC (JC – KS): Spencer Emerson, the head coach at Poland Regional HS (ME) is joining the staff as running backs coach and video coordinator, per the Sun Journal. 

California University of Pennsylvania (D-II – PA): California University of Pennsylvania is seeking an opponent for September 7th 2019 (week 1). Willing to discuss all options. If interested please contact Head Football Coach Gary Dunn at [email protected]

Montana State Northern (NAIA): Montana State University-Northern (NAIA): MSU-Northern is looking for a home and home series for 2019 and 2020. Next season our open date will be Aug. 31st  and would prefer playing at home. Any NAIA, DII, or D III program will be considered. We would also consider an FCS guarantee opponent. UT Permian Basin (D-II – TX): UT Permian Basin has two open dates next season. The week and date we are in need of filling are, week 1 (9/7/19) and week 7 (10/19/19). We will consider all options. Interested programs contact Head Coach Justin Carrigan [email protected]

Northwestern College (NAIA – IA): Northwestern College is accepting applications for offensive coordinator position. Northwestern has qualified for NAIA playoffs each of the past two seasons, finished the regular season ranked #5 in the NAIA and returns nine offensive starters including top passer, rusher and receiver.  Applicants can email Head Coach Matt McCarty at [email protected]

USC: After weighing a number of options, Kliff Kingsbury has agreed to be the new offensive coordinator at USC, according to a report from Colin Cowherd.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (Canada): Orlando Steinauer has been named head coach. Steinauer spent the 2017 season at Fresno State as defensive coordinator before going back to Canada as an assistant with the TiCats.

Masters of Sports Administration: Upper Iowa’s MSA degree provides learners with the current theories, concepts, and learning models necessary to assume administrative, coaching and leadership roles in high school, higher education and sports business settings. The online degree is available with emphasis in Sports Management or Coaching & Leadership Eduction.

James Madison (FCS – VA): Following the departure of Mike Houston, JMU has named inside linebackers coach Warren Belin the interim head coach. The school is using Parker Executive Search to find the program’s new head coach.

Kansas: KU has officially announced Chip Lindsey as offensive coordinator. More on this here.

Bowling Green: LaMarcus Hicks, who coached the secondary last year, is being retained by Scot Loeffler.

Charlotte: Will Healy is expected to be named the new head coach at Charlotte, per report.

Ohio State: As we reported last week, Ohio State has now made it official that Urban Meyer will retire following the Rose Bowl and offensive coordinator Ryan Day will step in as the new head coach of the Buckeyes.

West Texas A&M (D-II): West Texas A&M is accepting applications for offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach. Responsibilities include assisting the Head Coach in directing all aspects of a highly competitive football program including compliance with NCAA DII, LSC, and University rules and regulations; recruitment of qualified student-athletes; and retention of student-athletes. Bachelor’s degree required and college coaching and recruiting experience are preferred. FAU: Sources with direct knowledge told FootballScoop yesterday that Lane Kiffin is making a change at defensive coordinator.

Barton (D-II – NC): Averett (D-III – VA) defensive coordinator Treiston Burnette has been hired as the defensive coordinator at Barton, per source. Back in January, Barton announced that they’re starting a football program.

Memphis Express (AAF): Head coach Mike Singletary has hired Bobby Blizzard as receivers coach source tells FootballScoop. Blizzard coached receivers this season for Hampton. He previously served four seasons coaching receivers or as offensive coordinator for Hal Mumme.

Furman (FCS – SC): Furman is looking for a home game on November 23rd, 2019. Any FCS, Division II, or NAIA opponent will be considered. Must be a home game, and Furman is willing to pay guarantee. Wheeling Jesuit (D-II – WV): Wheeling Jesuit University has started a football program in 2018, will begin competition in the Mountain East Conference in 2019, and is seeking an opponent on October 12, 2019.  Prefer a home game, seeking to play in-region Division II or NAIA opponent, also willing to discuss with an FCS guarantee opponent.
