Kentucky: Sources tell FootballScoop Ole Miss linebackers coach Jon Sumrall has accepted a position on the defensive staff at Kentucky (where he played). Sources had told FootballScoop Sumrall had recently been offered a three-year deal to remain at Ole Miss so the draw to UK must have been substantial. Chase Parham was first to report the move.
Navy: Per source, defensive line coach Justin Davis has left the staff to pursue opportunities outside of football. Davis spent a dozen years at the Academy.
Michigan: The destination of Michigan’s annual spring field trip is…. far away from Ann Arbor.
Minnesota State Moorhead (D-II): Minnesota State University Moorhead is in search of an offensive graduate assistant to coach wide receivers. Compensation package includes an $8,500 stipend position and potential discounted tuition for graduate school. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree required, as well as previous coaching or playing experience. Review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until filled. USC: Colorado State director of recruiting Kelsea Winkle has accepted the position of on-campus recruiting at USC.
Cincinnati: Per source, former Liberty running backs coach Mike Brown is now the receivers coach at Cincinnati. Brown’s coaching career started at Michigan as an offensive analyst in 2016 before he took a quality control job at Delaware in 2017 prior to joining the Liberty staff.

Colorado State: Source tells FootballScoop Air Force tight ends coach Nick Jones is expected to join Mike Bobo’s staff. Jones joined the staff at Air Force before this past season after having spent six seasons at Coastal Carolina coaching tackles & tight ends. Jones played his college ball at Georgia 2003-06.
Nevada: Former Alabama, Oklahoma, Arizona State and Missouri defensive line coach Jackie Shipp has joined Nevada’s staff in the same post.
New Orleans Saints: The Saints have now formally announced the addition of Penn State specials teams coordinator / assistant defensive line coach Phil Galiano as their assistant special teams coach.
Bucknell (FCS – PA): Per source, former Seton Hill (D-II – PA) head coach Isaac Collins will be the new special teams coordinator / defensive backs coach at Bucknell.
Miami Dolphins: Per source, Navy fullbacks coach Mike Judge has left to join the Dolphins staff.
Kenyon College (D-III – OH): Source tells FootballScoop head coach Chris Monfiletto plans to step down. Monfiletto has served as head coach of the Lords since 2012.
Cincinnati Bengals: New York Giants defensive backs coach Lou Anarumo is set to interview for the defensive coordinator job on Thursday and is now considered the frontrunner for the job, Tom Pelissero tweets. Anarumo and new Bengals head coach Zac Taylor both spent time as interim coordinators while working with the Dolphins together in 2015.
Pearl River (JC – MS): Pearl River is no longer accepting applications for the wide receivers job. Thanks for the overwhelming interest.
Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jags have hired former Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers as a senior defensive assistant on the staff, the team has announced. Capers spent last season out of football after a nine-year run with the Packers.
Elmhurst (D-III – IL): Source tells FootballScoop that Illinois Wesleyan (D-III) defensive coordinator Jeff McDonald is expected to become the new head coach at Elmhurst.
South Florida: Charlie Strong has completed his coaching staff and announced he additions of Jeremy Darveau (OL), as well as Kade Bell and Andrew Robustelli (both offensive analysts) who are all joining the staff after coaching at Valdosta State (D-II – GA) with new offensive coordinator Kerwin Bell. On defense, Strong has promoted Bryan Hill from quality control to safeties coach, Steve Ellis will coach the defensive backs and Paul Spicer will coach the defensive line. Ellis spent the last ten seasons at Middle Tennessee State where he worked with the corners and Spicer spent the last four seasons as assistant defensive line coach with the Tampa Bay Bucs. Also, Albert Boone has been promoted from director of on campus recruiting to director of football operations.
Bucknell (FCS – PA): Head coach Dave Cecchini has announced that Jason Miran has joined the staff from Valparaiso (FCS – IN) as offensive coordinator and Ohio Dominican (D-II) defensive coordinator Ryan Manalac has come on board as defensive coordinator. Before joining Ohio Dominican, Manalac coached the linebackers at Valpo under Cecchini in 2016.
Alabama: Four offensive coordinators in four seasons. Seven defensive backs coaches in seven seasons. Putting Alabama’s insane level of staff turnover in perspective.
Youngstown State (FCS – OH): Sources tell FootballScoop Bo Pelini is hiring former Pitt offensive line coach John Peterson as his new offensive line coach. Coach Pete, who played at Ohio State, coached at Akron, UAB and Ohio State before becoming Pat Narduzzi’s offensive line coach at Pitt in 2015. Peterson steps in for Carmen Bricillo who last week accepted a position with the New England Patriots.

Glenville State (D-II – WV): Head coach Eric Smith has resigned after two seasons to pursue opportunities outside of coaching. Smith went 9-13 leading the program. Blake Tasker, the defensive coordinator for the program, will take over as interim head coach and a national search for the program has begun.
Dallas Cowboys: Source tells FootballScoop the Cowboys are hiring Missouri offensive line analyst Adam Kleffner as assistant offensive line coach. Two years ago Kleffner was out of the game selling construction equipment. Now he’ll be coaching for the Cowboys. Follow your dreams men.
AAF: While the AAF was basking in the glow of a well-received launch, the Alliance of American Football was reportedly seeking a 9-figure investment in order to help make payroll.
Bowling Green: Brian VanGorder has been named defensive coordinator and Jim Hermann will coach the linebackers. VanGorder originally joined the staff as associate head coach / linebackers coach back in December.
UT-Martin (FCS): Per source, Florida A&M corners coach Kenneth Gilstrap has joined the staff as corners coach.
Notre Dame: Ben Cotton has joined the staff as a graduate assistant. Cotton previously served as a graduate assistant at Pitt.
East Texas Baptist (D-III): East Texas Baptist University (a strong Christian institution) is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Football Coach, Defensive (preferably DL or DB). This is an entry level position (low salary with NO benefits, No housing). The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for, but not limited to, assist the head football coach in the leadership and direction of the program; organize practice sessions, participate in the preparation of student-athletes for competition and provide positive guidance to students off the field.
