NFL: The Josh McDaniels-Colts saga could cause the NFL to change one of its silliest rules.

Temple: Director of player personnel Larry Knight has been promoted to outside linebackers coach/recruiting coordinator for defense.

Mississippi State: Former Marshall and Purdue offensive coordinator Bill Legg will be a quality control coach on offense, a source tells FootballScoop. BTN’s Tom Dienhart also reported Legg will join the staff.

Washington State: Mike Leach has formally announced his 2018 coaching staff — Tracy Claeys, defensive coordinator; Matt Brock, special teams coordinator; Mason Miller, offensive line; Steve Spurrier, Jr., outside receivers; Darcel McBath, cornerbacks; Kendrick Shavers, safeties; Eric Mele, running backs; Dave Nichol, inside receivers; Jeff Phelps, defensive line; Ken Wilson, linebackers; and Tyson Brown, strength and conditioning.

Chicago Bears: The Bears have announced Matt Nagy’s first coaching staff — Mark Helfrich, offensive coordinator; Charles London, RBs; Mike Furrey, WRs; Dave Ragone, QBs; Harry Hiestand, OL; Donovan Raiola, assistant OL; Kevin Gilbride, TEs; Mike Snyder, offensive QC; Brian Ginn, offensive QC; Shane Toub, offensive assistant; Vic Fangio, defensive coordinator; Ed Donatell, DBs; Roy Anderson, assistant DBs; Brandon Staley, OLBs; Glenn Pires, LBs; Jay Rodgers, DL; Sean Desai, defensive QC; Bill Shuey, defensive QC; Chris Tabor, special teams coordinator; Brock Olivo, assistant special teams.

Maine (FCS): Special teams coordinator / receivers coach Nick Charlton has been promoted to offensive coordinator / quarterbacks. Maine further advises they are no longer accepting applications for open positions at this time.

UT Martin (FCS): Source tells FootballScoop Patrick Ashford has been hired at UT Martin as QB coach from Austin Peay where he served as offensive grad assistant.

Missouri S&T (D-II): Central High School (St. Joseph, MO) head coach Andy Ball resigned to become the Missouri S&T (D2) Offensive coordinator. He had been on the Missouri Western staff prior to this past season.

Warner (NAIA – FL): Warner University has an immediate opening on their football staff for a restricted earnings coach working with the QB’s or LB’s. This person will work full time hours with no benefits. Warner University is a private Christian University. The candidate, first and foremost, must have a desire to mentor young men in their walk with Christ and uphold the University’s Christian beliefs and school standards. The qualified candidate must be available for spring practice beginning the first week of March. The candidate will have other duties on the staff such as recruiting, practice organization, position and team meetings, and any other responsibilities that are assigned to him by the head coach. Fresno State: Source tells FootballScoop Jeff Tedford is close to adding Kenwick Thompson to his defensive staff. Thompson, who most recently served as East Carolina’s defensive coordinator, previously coached with Tedford at Cal for a number of seasons. Thompson is expected to coach linebackers along with other responsibilities at Fresno State source tells FootballScoop.

Indianapolis Colts: Kevin Patullo will be Indy’s wide receivers coach, according to Alex Marvez. Patullo formerly coached quarterbacks for the Jets and spent 2017 as an offensive analyst at Texas A&M.

Bemidji State (D-II – MN): Bemidji State University is seeking applicants for two entry level assistant positions. One offense, one defense. These coaching positions are unpaid with potential for promotion in the future. Previous coaching or playing experience preferred. Off-campus jobs are available for those interested. The Apprentice School (PostGrad – VA): Handley (VA) High School head coach John Davis will be the head coach at The Apprentice School.

Lock Haven (D-II – PA): Western Michigan special teams quality control Matt Zanellato has been hired as wide receivers coach at Lock Haven, sources tell FootballScoop.

Midland (NAIA – NE): 2001 Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch will be the running backs coach at Midland, tweets ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg. Midland’s head coach is Jeff Jamrog, a former Huskers player, assistant and administrator.

Southeast Missouri (FCS): Wide receivers coach Matt Martin has moved to outside linebackers, source tells FootballScoop. He will remain SEMO’s special teams coordinator.

Houston Baptist (FCS – TX): Texas Tech Special Teams Quality Control Tyler Schovanec has been hired as Houston Baptist Special Teams Coordinator / Running Backs Coach.

Alabama: Head strength coach Scott Cochran joins twitter and immediately let’s his presence be felt.

Louisiana Tech: Former Incarnate Word (FCS – TX) defensive coordinator Brian Gamble will be the linebackers coach at Louisiana Tech, according to Bleed Tech Blue.

Crown College (D-III – MN): Crown College is seeking applicants for an Offensive Intern Coach (Quarterbacks preferred, but open to the best offensive fit). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coaching your own position group, video editing/breakdown, offensive administrative duties and recruiting. This position includes a stipend, but no housing, benefits or meals are provided at this time. Crown College is a 4 year Christian college. The successful candidate must be able to articulate and reflect Christian principles and values. Rowan (D-III – NJ): Rowan is looking for a graduate assistant. Graduate assistant will perform a number of duties for Rowan Football, including assisting positional coach with on field coaching, film responsibilities (recording, uploading, breakdown, etc.), monitoring study hall sessions, as well as other duties that will be assigned by the head coach. 2 year commitment. Qualifications: Rowan Football is looking for a student that is/or will be matriculated into graduate school at Rowan University by the fall of 2018.  Applicant should have strong desire to pursue coaching career, and a genuine love of the game.  Prior playing experience or coaching experience is preferred, as well as a working knowledge of Hudl.  Compensation: $5,000 stipend and meal plan.
