UC Davis (FCS): Anthony Arceneaux has joined the staff as wide receivers coach. He arrives from Southern Utah

Duke: Per source, Virginia Tech defensive graduate assistant Zach Sparber is heading to Duke to assist with linebackers.

Philadelphia Eagles: Iowa State safeties coach DK McDonald, who spent the last six seasons with Matt Campbell and four seasons prior to that with him at Toledo, is expected to join the Eagles staff.

St. Thomas (FCS – MN): Making an unprecedented move from Division III to FCS, St. Thomas is not messing around with its first non-conference game.

East Carolina: Derek Miller has been named director of player personnel and recruiting. Miller most recently served as director of football operations and player personnel at alma mater Bowling Green State and has previous experience at LSU and USC.

Wesley (D-III – DE): Wesley, one of the top Division III football programs in the country, is shutting down all of athletics.

UCF: Details of Gus’s contract at UCF are out and the next trip to Waffle House is on him.

Texas: Texas is promoting Brandon Harris to director of recruiting, replacing Bryan Carrington, according to Pete Thamel. Harris has been on the Longhorns’ support staff since 2019. FootballScoop reported Saturday night that Steve Sarkisian is targeting NC State’s Billy Glasscock as director of player personnel.

Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals have hired Kelly Jones to serve as the club’s first chief people officer. The newly-created position will oversee human resources as well as “workplace diversity, equity and inclusion” and serve as the team’s liaison on civic initiatives.

Virginia Tech: Jon Tenuta, a coaching veteran with 40-years experience and nearly two-decades of defensive coordinator experience, has joined the program as a senior defensive analyst. He previously coached the safeties for three seasons at Cincinnati before moving into a senior defensive analyst role.

Tennessee: As we’ve previously reported, Alex Golesh has now been announced as offensive coordinator / tight ends coach. He worked in the same role at UCF under Josh Heupel. The program has also formally announced the rest of the offensive staff, as we’ve previously shared: Glen Elarbee (OL), Joey Halzle (QBs), Kodi Burns (WRs) and Jerry Mack (RBs).

Pitt: Hawaii receivers coach Brennan Marion is leaving to become the wide receivers coach at Pitt, according to a report.

Ottawa (NAIA – AZ): Ottawa University Arizona has an immediate opening for a graduate assistant or restricted earnings offensive line coach. College coaching and recruiting experience is preferred. Applicants must be accepted into the graduate program with a 3.0 GPA. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, equipment organization, practice planning, coaching a position group, leading meetings, film break down, player evaluation and recruiting, promotion and marketing of the program, and assisting in general day to day football operations. This position pays full tuition, a meal plan, as well as a healthy stipend. Jacksonville Jaguars: As expected, the organization has now formally announced the additions of Tom Gamble (senior personnel executive) and Ryan Stamper (director of player assessment).

Eastern Michigan: Jimmy Williams Jr., who previously coached the defensive line at Eastern Michigan in 2015, has been named head coach Ann Arbor Pioneer HS (MI). There are no jobs open on the Eastern Michigan staff at this time.

Tennessee: Sources confirm to FootballScoop that Tennessee is on the verge of hiring Penn State defensive coordinator Tim Banks.

Judson (NAIA – IL): Judson University has an immediate opening for a full-time assistant coach on offense, Quarterback or Offensive Line Coach Qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree, College Coaching Experience or someone just completing a GA Role. Compensation includes Salary, meal plan, and provided Off-Campus housing, living with two other Football Coaches at no cost. Salary will be commensurate based on experience. If the Candidate has a Masters Degree, Adjunct Professor role may be available with added compensation. Judson University is an equal opportunity employer. UCF: It’s official. Gus Malzahn is the new head coach at UCF.

Top Available: We took a look at the top 7 available coaches that spend the 2020 season as head coaches or coordinators that are still on the market.

New England Patriots: Tom Pelissero tweets that Bo Hardegree is expected to join the coaching staff and will fill the void made by Jedd Fisch’s departure to become the head coach at Arizona. Hardegree is a longtime assistant under Adam Gase.

UCF: Per multiple outlets, UCF has called a 2 p.m. presser to introduce Gus Malzahn.

Southwest Mississippi CC (JC): Courtland Hays has been named offensive coordinator, per source. Hays previously served as an assistant at North Alabama, Samford and East Mississippi CC (JC).

Michigan: Athletic director Warde Manuel has signed a multi-year contract extension, per The Detroit News. David Jesse tweets that the extension is for 5-years and goes through June 30th, 2026.

Washington Football Team: Chris Polian is joining the organization as director of pro personnel, the team has announced. Polian is the former GM of the Colts (2009-11).

Notre Dame: Brian Kelly has announced promotions for special teams coordinator Brian Polian defensive line coach Mike Elston. More details here.

UCF: Following up on our report from yesterday, Pete Thamel tweets this morning that Gus Malzahn is finalizing a deal with UCF and an official announcement on the hire could come today.

Independence CC (JC – KS): Per source Charlotte offensive graduate assistant Brett Kean has been named quarterbacks coach.

Louisiana: Sources tell FootballScoop Darnell Stapleton is expected to join Billy Napier’s staff.

Rice: Sources tell FootballScoop Mike Bloomgren is reaching back to the Pac-12 to fill his offensive coordinator role.

Southwest Mississippi (JC): Nestor Puertas has been named the program’s defensive coordinator, per source. Puertas previously coached the linebackers at East Mississippi CC (JC).

Houston: With Grady Brown reportedly joining the Steelers, Houston is about to be on its fourth cornerbacks coach of 2021.

Edwards Waters (NAIA – FL): Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, FL is looking for a spring football game on March 13th. We recently had a school opt out on that date. Please contact Head Coach Greg Ruffin at 281-780-2602.
